Unless you are an expert in the data, or have spent a life analyzing it you are going to be at a disadvantage when reading about climate change.

However I used to be unskeptical believer, now I'm just skeptical. I personally don't know if man made climate change is real, but I do not accept it as a self evident truth or that it is something we should blindly accept as real.

My BS meter to go off quite strongly with man made climate change these days, and my BS meter is normally pretty good but not error free. There are also enough reasoned critiques of the data to make me think that at least the data critiqued is perhaps wrong, or absolutely bogus - but perhaps there is other compelling data I haven't read. And there are enough virtue signalling shills making their living off man made climate change and the research into it to provide a strong incentive to keep any myth rumbling along for as long as possible. I'm also skeptical that we have enough data points to making any conclusions about the impact of man on climate change, especially when we do not understand how or why dramatic climate changes in the past happen - a time when man wasn't around or certainly wasn't doing anything to fuck it up.

However I don't spend too much time thinking about it, because there is no doubt fossil fuels cause environmental pollution, so even if man made climate change is not real we still want to go down the route of sustainability anyway.

I do have a problem with the eco militants. Often it is just a smokescreen for something else. For example the EU has indicated that by 2020, 20% of energy sources should be from a renewable source, so we are seeing lots of those huge windmills built which are true eyesores and you know what, they are powered by diesel! The EU has meddled in everything: they have stipulated that our vacuum cleaners must not be over 1600 watts, which is pretty useless. Now, when you buy a vacuum cleaner you are not told what wattage it is. That is crazy, would you buy a car without knowing the engine size? Dishwashers have to be eco too and just spit a bit of water at the dishes... you have to be crafty to get around all these EU regulations. Hint, they ignore all this in France. It's only here that we have to do everything by the book. It's not about being eco at all, because you have to run the dishwasher twice to get the dishes clean. This is all just an excuse to sell cheap crap under the guise of eco to maximise profits.

I have a problem with the recycling militants too. How does me recycling a yogurt carton affect the global issue when China last year were building 4 coal fired power stations a week (according to Greenpeace)? The UK is 0.88% of the world population. It's about righteousness and righteousness and lefties go hand in hand. Throw a few facts at them and their argument falls flat, so they resort to name calling...

Another hypocrisy: supermarket carrier bags. All in the name of protecting the planet? What about all the huge amounts of other packaging that is used?

But they do have one valid point: Hillary did get more actual votes. That has happened here too; Labour won the election when the Tories had more actual votes. That's just not true. I have noise assessed a few, including the one that sprang-up near my son's home, and they are way too quiet to contain anything except termites. Plus they are good for the UK economy. Anything that does not require oil, coal or gas to generate electricity is good for the UK economy.

I think that treadmills should be installed in prisons, and the inmates don't get fed until they have produced at least 5kWhr daily.

You need to run the rinse cycle first to remove some of the effluent. I drop a little washing-up liquid in it to effect a partial de-grease. The results are truly amazing.

The Chinese are working quite hard to reduce their pollution. I would not be surprised to find some exhaust management fitted to the waste discharge.

That said ... the Chinese did bring online, allegedly, an amount of generating power equal to the whole of the UK output a year or two ago.
