...after switching to H4 TF I got interesting confluence points in the green rectangles ( Flip- Falling daily TL- NFP/Elections).
Definitly worth watching..

well, it was not meant to mean anything too complicated. Just tried to say that if you put the vertical lines - you getter get the time perspective and you know when to expect a news-associated ebbs and flows and momentum - so those moments/news basically determine the way the swing looks....... so you know when to expect the news, which depending on the type of news, their expectations and their final outcome...... can either tigger:

a momentum if the news is favor of the recent short term leg direction (overshoot or a flop in fact vs. expectations, which is in favor of the leg in motion) - direct continuation flow
or
can temporarily short curcuit the leg by creating a retrace with a post-news flow (overshoot or a flop in fact vs. expectations, which is against the leg in motion) - usually a zig-zag move
or
completely kill it if the news is game changer (major overshoot or flop in fact vs. expectations, which newly defines the direction)

=) but this is not so much a question of timing but of an interpretation of the news

if you guys new to the thread it can help if you watch the posts here during some important news. bet it will help you understand

Hello everyone!

Im pretty new here on FF, this is my first post.
Im 24 years old, trading from Stockholm sweden, been trading for about 2 years now. Trading AU, UJ, EG and GU in the 5m perspective, using trend lines, support/resistance, Elliott wave and price action. Hope to learn alot from this thread!

Taking 1.09x and closing the month towards 085x would confirm the roll play that Fadhl successfully called last week I believe. Closing under monthly low at 085x even better. Won't surprise me however if M rolls right at 0964.

A simple day across the board without surprises.

Only update from the BOE. Carney staying for the storm which will make Sterling survive another day. As always the usual suspects got the confirmation way before the rest of the mortals but thats is usual in the City and will get worst in the upcoming months with them front-running all the Brexit news as they have the Government caught by its balls for the negotiations ...at least for now...

Tracking tangentially the calendar M closes but without surprises all cards already on the table ...

UJ monthly close looks exciting

Planning on buying a dip again, if opportunity presents. Dollar et all looking like it wants to offer another load before December if Nov FOMC plays ball

Its may get very tricky UJ. I am flat since the test 105.2x last week and I am not planning to trade it yet.

We have clashing forces at key levels. Via Dollar is the no brainer trade but Risk will be in play till election at least (depending on result can become permanent with Brexit / Nutter combo) and to put the cherry on top we have BOJ. In simple words not everything that glitters [in a chart] is gold.

Expectations for BOJ are a mixed bag of extremes, slightly leaned for BOJ to hold their horses given US election and to lesser extend Brexit risk (thats is for next year and beyond) leaving us in a wide cluster fck till year's end. 105.2x will be a hard nut to crack short term with risk on the table or without a very helping hand from the BOJ.

In simple words, IMO there is very poor value for risk trading at this area until the BOJ is not clear even though TA wise looks rather 'simple' on the M close. Have you ever heard or witnessed a triple zigzag? ...Tracking closely the BOJ before further decisions.

...and we rolled, with Euro only one from the majors with something in play.

From a strictly TA point of view bulls barely held the calendar M roll (but not the actual trading close last Friday) one more time but now they will need a major game changer to avoid the almost unavoidable in the mid term ...

More importantly Euro unlocking momentum play for the mid term leg for the first time this year. (for those who have asked. This is the opposite of 'roll play' for triggers...check some of the old iteration for examples).

Very active weeks for trading expected. Plenty of movers and shakers in play and with all key markets taking sides. We have RBA, BOJ, BOE, NFP and elections and all that with FED as main dish in the middle .... ufff ...

There will be blood next few weeks, expecting major shake outs in play and obviously most unaware soft retail will be annihilated in the middle so for those newcomers, keep extra attention and avoid being the sucker caught in micro flows when major legs are in play ....

Chart is US election season 2008, ^VIX range was 20 to 95....wtf happened to the markets?

election season 2016, except for a quick pop post Jackson Hole, ^VIX not even able to nudge past 18....SPX stuck in a range since mid-July...some serious volatility long long overdue

Well Lehman happened back then !!!!... ...Election was not even a glitch that time.

Boat is still fully loaded in US Equities this time so only a major short-circuit in he US political front during or after election will rock the boat. Pointless to jump out deep on gossip short term and no brainer if the nutter wins for the mid term.

FED coming, the odds for a hike are nearly zero, a surprise will set the domino in motion for the VIX otherwise only political jitters and soap opera in tweet trading mode is in play volatility wise.

I won't be surprise of another scandal coming in the next couple of days or after if the election is too close to call or Clinton just edged by a tiny margin, the super fake, plastic rich guy doesn't come across as someone that will just concede without a fight or taking the system down with him...
