I'm a sort-of petrol head.
I enjoy racing, I drive two wheels (see my avatar) with 500bhp/ton (depending upon how much pudding I've eaten).
My car is practical oil-burner ... with more than the average amount of shove but not loads.

There's something about that ginger squirt. I find him generally irritating and switch-off whatever he appears on, with or without video.

When I was 18 I dated a rally driver. He told me to just get through my test and then I can learn to drive properly. So that's where it all started and it's stuck. Now I like my cars big but can be thrown around like a hot hatch, German with a decent poke and obviously manual. Which is becoming a bit of a problem. I'm in two minds about the steptronic gearbox. I've always hated auto. Any thoughts?

For a recent oh-no birthday somebody bought me a comparison drive at Silverstone; a Ferrari 458 and an Aston Martin Vantage. The 458 had a paddle-shift gearbox which I really liked (done a lot of miles on Grand Turismo in manual-mode), and a V8 Vantage manual with cramped foot-well but good handling and sounds much nicer... looks nicer too IMHO. You can get the Vantage with a sequential auto-box.

By the time my kids are old enough to drive, it will be all self driving and they will never learn! I hope not though. I play a game with them where they have to tell me what to do according to the road conditions - brake, change gear etc. My older one is very good, better than most adults.

Currently I'm trying to source BMW 5 series M manual (that's the hard bit) about a year old, the best I can get is the 525. 530 and 535 don't come in manual. Adaptive steering, head up display and night vision as well.

I'm sorry, but I think American cars are worse than French! They're mattresses on wheels. Over 80 mph and they're unstable.

I've been doing my motorcycle lessons - like wtf are all these tests for: CBT, Theory, Off Road Test (for cc group), On Road Test (for cc group) plus more tests if you don't do it on 500cc initially....

I've stopped going into Autumn / Winter, the roads are too wet.

Also was at my first motogp race this summer

Bikes are far too dangerous for me I would never go on one (again).

For something less practical and smaller I'd go for the M4. It's beautiful; the cornering is amazing!

No way! Granted we had some bad years in the 80's and 90's but our cars have gotten a lot better since, especially Ford, and no one can beat our trucks. You have never driven a Mustang Shelby or Dodge Challenger? Pure Power, and exhilaration! I do like Aston Martin (one of my favorites) and the BMW M5, Audi SR6 is pretty sweet.

I used to race ST SCAA, Sport cross. My was VW Golf GTI Wolfberg Edition. I loved that car. Also had a Jetta, which I also liked. My next vehicle is probably going to be a Truck.
