GBPJPY - Crocodile Smile Straight forward pips has not been forth coming in this pair for sometime now, the negative signals so far have performed below par and far from convincing. Bullish signals are gradually developing but adequate confirmation is eagerly being sought after atm. I take buy position now at 131.47, [email protected] 130.40, TP1 132.91. Will watching behavior, rhythm and blues to clear up what particular structure this pair would take to determine if more positions should be opened for the long haul TPs or early TP @132.50. {image}

GBPJPY - Crocodile Smile

What a fire-cracker for a crocodile smile. knew something crazy was in the mix, now i see what's in the mix surely the pips should come freely... hopefully

CROCODILE SMILE

What is this? look at the shape of this crazy movement on your charts... yes you got it, thats a Croc smile for you, obviously the croc dont smile very often which is very good but whenever it smiles these sort of things happens --could go any direction. One of the ways you know a croc is going to smile is when it remains mostly emotionless for a long time, after that then comes the crocodile tears - then becomes emotionless again (in no particular order, sometimes interchanges severally) - then it eventually smiles

Obviously it doesn't smile for a long time either so it is making the attempt to close the smile, will it close it in one scoop or smile a bit more ? ie measuring how big the last smile was before closing it mouth or close mouth once and stone-faced back to normal Croc business..

March 2011 / Oct 2016. Fell from the same place. Dropped to the same place. Both +/- 50 pips. Both within about 90 minutes of each other. The first crash had already recovered to 131 within 6 hrs, mainly because the Japanese Govt screamed and hollered. Then they enlisted other G7 central banks to help lift it further, where it capped at 140

I wish Abe and Kuroda will scream and holler now. I am still holding my longs!

I had some shorts over the last 7-8 days and I wasn't comfortable with the price action last night so hedged the positions.

Thankfully, I've got a nice broker so there were no spread issues that could margin call my account.

Stupidly, I forgot to take away the take profits on my shorts. The long position was left to run into margin.

Totally unexpected turn of events!

Tonight is a great example of the reason why after 2-3 weeks of profits I withdraw chunks of cash from my trading account and keep it in the bank. 1/4 of reserve fund gone but at least I can go back to the market without the shakes of burning a whole account to the ground.

Just a tip for anyone who needs it.

Wonder how low it really went!
A Ausie broker I am considering moving to had a low of 115.6 and a 1550 pip 30 minute candle.
Another candidate from Switzerland had a low of only 122.4
Ex Armada...

Never a fan of those who use their trading accounts as a savings account, I never have more than I need to in any of my trading account, any capital in any trading account is always actively in use otherwise it is where it should be -(either making more money or sleeping in my Bank account. More so definitely not into risking 1% of account on trades etc. It is when you do this you tend to be running your trading account like a no - interest paying savings account.

Remember that the prices that you are quoting are Bid prices. The Aussie broker may have had a 700 or 800 pip spread, and the Swiss broker may have had only a 20 pip spread. That would account for the vastly different lows.

Hear of some brokers pushing their spreads closer to 1000 pips at the hight (or is it depth) of the drop.

Trade safe and GREEN pips to one and ALL.

You absolutely right there, I should actually read more into spreads.

I forgot, I actually traded the event with said Ausie broker, went long at 119.189 with a limit, the interesting part is I am now considered a major player note the personal market changing stop hunt to 115.778 to the money on a 3k demo, now why on earth did I put a stop on that and where did all my tinfoil go.
