Interesting thread, I found MT4 8 hours 12 hour chart indicator here http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=475002 , And can you explain a bit about how you use SL and TP, and what is the best RR ratio for a entry on this method. Good luck

I don't use SL unless news is upon us. ut from what I have seen 50 to 60 pips should be more than enough.

To bad, it didn't get back into the channel. But I still expect a decent correction in AUDUSD so will wait for now with this one.

good thread attila... Something as basic as trendlines are more than enough to capture a lot of good trades... i make almost 85 percent of my trades with them..

on another note, please always use a SL... feel free to make it wide to avoid spiked stop outs but never trade without it...
you have to understand that the most dangerous kinds of news are not the ones that are made public of FF or any retail news sites...

for instance, the CHF tsunami which wiped out loads of accounts was not as a result of a scheduled news event. It just happened..... in such a case, without a stop loss placed at the time of order, no retail trader would have known when to close out the trade or when to even place a stop loss. So pls always place your stop loss immediately you set your order.

Koop, yes, trendlines simply are the best there is, I try to get into orderflows but not sure where to find good information or subscribe to some service where I could see orderflows. I saw jigsawtrading but I would love to have deeper insight. Even for scalps.
Anyway, the Swiss franc trade years ago was also a news event. To many where on the longs because of the swaps. I know because I have a friend who manages clients money and I advised years before to go long since it was capped but put the stop at 1.2% lower. The only problem there was that those stops where tripped way below since there was no market. Also, the people where made crazy that Jordan would raise the cap to 1.25. Anyway, that was also a news spike.
Currently I am also testing some things with big news events but want to keep that quiet for now until I am confident that it works. NFP Works, and have no secret so if anybody want to know how to trade the NFP just let me know.

Currently I went short on EU. It might still go up to 1.1280 area but there is also another line where it is at currently. So I took a small position just in case.

Is there anybody who has the USCASH 8 and 12 hour chart? (S&P500 Cash)
Please post a screenshot.
On the hourly it keeps running into resistance but have to have 8 and 12 to make a decent decision.

EU has been too slow for me to trade these past few days/weeks.... only the shorter term traders would profit from it.
currently milking the GBP pairs at the moment...

About the NFP trading, i would appreciate the insight

Well with NFP the trick is to compare the past 3 moths of numbers. Then the day the NFP is, just check what pairs run against the USD and what pairs have the same movement as the USD.

So, if EURUSDis moving up, but the USD index is moving down then you can trade it.
If AUDUSD is moving down and the USD index is also moving down, then you can't trade the AU pair during the NFP.
Etc etc.

Then when the numbers come out, compare the last three numbers from previous releases. If it is better take the pairs you can trade.
So lets say as stupid example.

June 10K
July 20K
August 30K

Lowest was 10K highest 30K

So below 10K is bad for USD. Above 30K is good for USD.
Everything in between, walk away and come back next week cause there you will have those spikes up and down and up and down etc.

Just watch the next NFP.

Update on EURUSD trade. We are into the selling area. Might run up to the outer trendline since it hasn't tested it at all.
We will see.
