Why scale down your exposure? This pairs momentum is bearish on most timeframes and looks like it can break lower easily testing the 0.75 level. RSI also remains strongly overbought..

Scale out due to personal choice, taking profit and reducing number of trades held over the weekend.

Not really a major necessity to close out of these trades due to the bearish nature which you pointed out and to which I agree.

However, buyers can also enter the market in force and drive price up ...........

Since I've taken profit on 105 trades (allowing 15 shorts to run) if price manages to pullback nice and high then I'll be looking to re-enter with multiple shorts (most likely staggered entries) early next week.

Simply wanted less trades on the books over the weekend and some profit added to the account.

I put almost no faith whatsoever in any readings of oversold or overbought indicators since the market can remain O/S or O/B far longer than any of us can remain solvent.

My focus is on price handles, PA and general chart structure and constant fundamental awareness etc.

ps. I did consider holding onto the trades a little longer today before closing most of the profitable trades out but chose to close them out when I did.

Compound rate = +0.9% (daily)
Max floating DD = 17.1%

Progressing very nicely at this stage but a long way to go ......

But my focus is primarily on the time when the nasty cycle strikes and how to best manage that particular cycle.

So far so good!

ps. a 0.9% daily compound rate is really good to see especially considering that maintaining 0.5% on the previous standard account was quite difficult.

Thanks for the compliments too.

Just be aware that although I do trade the Quantum method it only forms a small part of my trading methodologies and is NOT my main strategy.

I actually trade the QAM Method on a much larger standard ECN type of account.

So this QAM approach on the small account could be considered as my little project and my attempt to show that it is possible to grow a smaller account into a much larger account provided you manage the risk appropriately.

I can say that this is not easy to achieve but so far the small account is headed in the right direction.

I'm here to manage the strategy through to glory ....

I'll certainly do my very best.

Hello Masterrmind, yes, I understand that Quantum is one method and it is NOT only my main strategy too. Yes, you are right, money management is more important to grow a smaller account into a much larger account.

Yes, I believe you can manage the strategy through to glory . That's for keeping it up.

The SLs in these cycles and also the previous cycles are not related to H1, H4 or any other bar.

They are simply set very wide initially to allow the trades plenty of room to move.

Obviously on volatile pairs like EA and GJ etc the stops are wider than on smaller ADR pairs such as EG, EU etc.

Depending on how the cycles unfold over time and the longer term chart structure will dictate how the SLs are minimized (if they are).

The stops are placed so far out that they have not yet interfered with the progress of any cycles.

SLs may also be reduced or sometimes extended for cycles that run over the weekend but this depends on my assessment of likely gap up or gap down scenarios once the market fires up again at the start of the new week.

You could view the stops on some of these cycles as simply an account protector in the event of a nasty and unpredictable price spike.

I am afforded such large stops because I'm applying relatively small lot sizes on an account that has a very good ratio between account balance/equity and lot size even with many other unfavorable trading conditions.

Its all a matter of working with what you've got and getting the most out of it for the least amount of risk.
