if using indicators work,then there are no loser on this forum. 95% of the traders r loser and that the fact I was a loser in my first 3 yrs using indicators and shorts tf. Under capitals , r/r and sychology r 3 of the most important things

The problem isn't the indicators themself ... but how we interpret them.

They are plenty of successfull traders using naked charts ... there are also plenty of successfull traders using indicators.

Just trade the way you are comfortable with ...

Absolutely agree.
Folks, stating that:
1- someone prefers using indicators and somebody prefer blank chart.. it' ok.
2- someone believes indicators are just for newbie (i disagree, btw) and somebody believes are useful for everybody if correctly read and correctly chosen... also this is ok.

Well, i would point all of you to the TOPIC of the thread: "Any non-repaint indicators that work well trading forex"
Ok,i understand the title itself,could be neither appreciated by somebody cause it implies some cause-effect conditions that are not so automatic IMHO. But hey it's member's "iwishtowin" thread so, don't we should stick with it's title, instead of prolonging this endless thing "yes indi / no indi in trading" ?

Oh well, i don't post often here,so maybe i am abusive.. and maybe the author of the thread also like this kind of debate here (if it would mine, i would not appreciate it too much if prolonged ad infinitum..cause it's OT)..but just my half cent about the matter.

Keep up the good work hayseed...I see many tractors in your future! Your indicator seems very interesting and I want to give it a try, but I have a few questions:

1. In your YouTube video titled: "2014 07 05 22 52 11 makayla", it shows your 5 yr old daughter Peyton had 198 consecutive wins. (WOW!). What timeframe did Peyton use to get those 198 consecutive wins? AND what was the period number (in the "input" tab) she used in the TSR indicator to get those 198 wins?

2. Did Peyton achieve those wins by waiting for the 4 TSR indicators to line up (as you showed in your "Peyton 2" video)? Or did she use only a single TSR line and simply entered a buy when it turned green (and exited when it turned red) and entered a sell when it turned red (and exited when it turned green)?

3. I noticed that in one of the videos of it showing that you used a period of 20 for the Daily chart, therefore I am assuming that is your TSR period setting for the Daily chart. However, what are the period number settings you personally use for the 1 hr, 4 hr, and Weekly timeframes? Or at least in your opinion what period setting do you recommend for those timeframes?

I am very interested in this indicator - especially after seeing the results of your 5 yr old daughter! I would appreciate immensely your replies to my above questions.

hey topgun..... my answers might be in random order.....

the indicator is not mine but the australian 'allan hull' ,commonly known as the hma..... the russians 'fxigor' and 'wizard serg' adapted it some, commonly know as the tsr........ i changed it a bit for the girls to better get an idea....

198 consecutive wins is really not all that hard.... their max would be close to 1000..... that will be explained below..... the periods they use vary depending on the weekly and monthly trends.... if the higher timeframes are down they use lower periods, 40 and lower, on the daily and 240 charts..... peyton used a single ma but the conditions favored a single ma last summer..... she did not take every signal.... the signals were filtered with respect to the daily zigzag position....

she never bought except to close a sell.... all trades were shorts.....

there are too many factors involved to choose a single ma period..... not only do the higher timeframe trends set the lower timeframe periods but also overbought/oversold areas and zigzag values have a say.....

the 198 consecutive wins...... if you get in at the beginning of a weekly or better still monthly trend change, occasionally you can ride it for months.... that's what they did..... it's almost impossible to lose if you keep your lot sizes low..... peytons trades were probably all less than 5 cents a pip.....

i made so many videos with them it's hard to remember.... if i can locate the one with them about the indicator mentioned here i will upload it..... it should clear up many questions.....

they were not interested in profit targets based on pips or dollars, their targets were based more on time...... it was patience , ie trust, that i was trying to teach them.....h

i was wrong about the size of the trades.... forgot she was using my standard account so it would be 10 to 50 cents a pip.... the trades in this post with 'peytons new bike' in the comments were hers..... she ended up buying 3 bikes, one for each of them..... h

About initial question: all indicators are best when a skilled trader is using them. Indicators and systems are for visual aid but the decisions are anyway made by trader. So, best indicators are trader's knowledge and state of mind.

Reason to Re-paint because high, low, close change until the end of candle time.
Well, there is OPEN unchanged once a new candle is drawn.
Of cos, you lag 1 candle time but you get the best idea when new candle start.
just replace OPEN instead of CLOSE for any formula of your indicator
most indicator becomes non re-paint such as RSI, macd whatever.
The only thing you need to do is to manual confirm the upward/downward is still the same way by simple price action logic.

I knew this thread was quite old, but here it is. They used non-repainting indicators in their systems.
