Australia's lowest inflation since 1999. Rate cut will come. Especially if 0.75 holds.

I know I harp on about it but iron ore is saving this pair from imminent collapse.

Some analysts are saying the probability for a rate cut dicreased after today =/

Interesting how USD is holding AUD down even after the news results. Could be big players setting up for tomorrow.

AUD CPI q/q: 0.4% v 0.4% expected - HEADLINE IN LINE WITH EXPECTATIONS

AUD/USD pulls back as core inflation remains low and at RBA forecasts.

We know the RBA doesn't mess around here. August rate cut on the cards, and Aussie pulling back as a result.

Did anyone see the spike minutes before the CPI release? Always insider trading with aussie data. I put in my buy because of it, easy pips.

but equally many times the spike minutes/seconds before the release has been in the opposite direction!

hmm. looking at the daily chart since mid-June, im neutral. i don't think there's a strong case for either up or down. the AUD has been crossing in and out of various trend lines.

1) fallen below the rising trend line since the climb from 71cents began end May
2) recovered above the falling trend line since the decline from 76cents began a week ago, but yet failed to make any headway above 7550
3) been hovering above and below the same moving averages on the 1hr, 4hr and daily charts without any bias

[sorry, i don't have editing tools now so can't copy my chart over]

clearly the market needs a new catalyst to initiate the next direction.

For today im scalping, buying around the 7450-7470 area and selling from 7530 area. stops sit below today's low and above 7540.
