How?

What in the world is going on right now? It fell to .74700 on U.S. non farm payroll announcement but then shot back up and is now .75500. Can someone explain why it didnt stay at .74700, or at least below .75???

Algos sold it off, traders bought it back up. Kind of expected on mixed US data, the headline employment number was much better than expected, which explains the large algo driven drop, but the employment % and hourly wages exposed underlying weakness. I'm guessing the former outweighed the latter two for the algos, but traders thought, "hang on..".

That's my explanation anyway. AUDUSD looking very strongly supported, but at the same time, just cannot get past 755., and in fact gets sold off above 752 on the 4h since last time it was up here a few days ago. Let's see what happens and where it closes.

I find sentiment in AUDUSD changes between very bearish and very bullish very rapidly every few months, so have to be careful here.

Ok finally we have an election result after an embarrassing third world paper count. Remember the incumbent Govt were all for innovation. Perhaps they can start with an IT dept in the Australian Electoral Commission.

As for the returned govt after minus-ing a few seats they managed to whimper across the line.

Problem they do have is that in Australia we have lower house (House of reps) and upper house (senate).

The senate will be the problem passing bills. The rabble who have been chosen will be interesting to see how they get along at the zoo.

Just another delay is our GG is overseas and cant swear in the new govt for another week... Organised chaos and that who is leading this country

Not really, the AEC will not finalise the result for some time. Postal votes can still come in until the end of the week. And it always takes this long, this year is no different in terms of how long it takes the AEC to announce the final result.

The only difference is that usually it's a lot more clear on the night who's won, so the fact that it always takes this long doesn't get any media coverage in a more typical election, it's just very close this time.

short entry above the high?

I'm hoping to ride this up to 0.7700, then I will be looking for a possible short setup.

The AUDUSD may reach the 0.7600 level, which could act as resistance, the 0.7500 level may act as support.

Just want to say be careful of going short on aussie this week. COT has changed to net long last week although not by too much if more longs added this week it could go up fairly quickly.

Waiting for new short entries.

I think that the price will reach 0.76628 level. After that, the price will return to the level of 0.74655 or further.

Nope. Short entry when bullish momentum wanes and a reversal (bearish) rejection signal shows up. Trade safe.
