Nice trade by the way

I only Day Trade, some High Frequency Stuff, but only out of personal preference, as Akt has pointed out numerous times...... price is fractal, time frame is only a lens used to zoom in and out.

For anyone thats interested, below are a couple of trades I took a short while ago that perfectly sum up my post yesterday (#614).

(I Just wanted to mention that the Pink and Blue Arrows and Triangles on the chart are what the Ninja Trader platform allow you to have visible to show historic trades, all I have done is annotate the reasoning behind the entries and exits)

Hello 4XAlien.
Thank you for sharing your chart. Much obliged.

If I may suggest something that helped me and may help you in trades like this please.

If you have a rule for example, that you will not place your stops just before or at a zone you would be interested in trading at, one of two things would happen.

You would either have had to forego taking the lower SZ that you labelled a loser because taking that zone would mean your stops would go either just before or actually inside the upper SZ, and so you would only take the upper levels

Alternatively,

you would take both zones, splitting your position size between the two zones, for example, say you wanted to trade 3 lots - enter i lot at the lower level and 2 lots at the higher level.
In this second scenario, the stop would go above the upper zone, nice and relatively "safe".
If scenario two is the one you prefer, then manage the stop as the trade moves in your favor, move it to break even when price moves a pre-determined multiple of your risk.

The euro short is an example of one way to use correlations, or in this case, the inverse correlation between the US Dollar and the Euro

Very good Akt. As long as stick to the decision matrix and don't let self doubt cloud my judgement then all should go as planned. Of course it is trading and I know I will have trades that don't work out. I can accept that.

Thanks for the examples, appreciate the time spent explaining them.

I agree with what you are saying, the ones you have illustrated are perfect Trade Entry & Management examples of some of the many possible scenarios that exist, however what actually happened was as follows

On the 2nd trade, where I scaled in, I accidentally entered the first trade of the two with a much smaller volume than I intended to, once I realised my error I quickly got in again for the remaining balance. I just decided not to annotate that because I felt as it wasnt actually part of my intended Strategy it would be pointless explaining, i.e. its not something I normally do on purpose!

My strategy can vary depending on the situation at the time but in general I approach each zone independently, I dont like scaling because it can mess up my trading equation, ie Risk Reward, which is something I consider a vital element personally and I rarely move Stops.

But as with the many facets of trading my way is not the perfect way, its just another way.

Correct, from a swing trader's perspective.
The ideal long triggered on Friday.
Additional longs can be sought on smaller time frames
