Hi Masterrmind,
are you interested in Formula One Racing ? ... the Australian Guy Daniel Riccardio drove second in Monte Carlo last Sunday but if his teammates would be better on alert he would be the winner. At the box the sleep bringing the wrong wheels, incredible mistake of the year for a Red Bull Team. On the other side, if the winner depends on how quick a team can change the wheels, they only should change the wheels.

School holidays are over for the moment but we are running into the European holiday season soon
Anyhow,
I have an new update for the EA, as you can run it in the operational environment because it wont create any Order for you, now, every action is logged inside the journal file.

As for now, it has the following enhancements

Trigger for Actions via Buttons in the chart or Pull down Menu at Start or just Hit F7 (for an running Expert Advisor Operation)
Magic Number four digits, calculated with your formula, digit no 4 is reserved for future used
Stopploss, TP are supported
Stop / Limit Orders(5) at Quantum Boxes upper / below Ask line (but we do have to define still the exact rules for that functions)
Lotsize limit is 0.02 as to save our Equitity around 1300 USD.

As for me, I do not like the behaviour of the EA because it will start new every time you Hit the F7 as I thought it will only start the "onTick" function, the action of distance (if you run it with other Charts) might disturb as I guess the variables are not that kind of save and encapsulated.

Anyhow, it is the first time that we code an EA in this kind of modality, my preferred way is to avoid external or file variables but this kind of approach do not help here.

So, we still have to learn and understand the behavior in the running environment in different Chartwindows and how it affect each others behavior.
I removed the OrderSend functions because I already create some Orders at my own account in the morning.

Still missing in my opinion
can apply SL+TP based on %risk

Some other Question is as you entered today in EUR/AUD ... what was your rule in selecting EUR/AUD ... do you first check the heatmap for pairs and then look at the chart
and then you looking for as you mention today the ABCD formation

Yes I'm a big fan of F1 racing including many other international sports.

Many interesting things occur in F1 but that was unacceptable for a red bull racing team .... they need to fix that and fix it fast!

Many thanks for continuing on with the EA it is appreciated.

I'll start having a look at its functionality after the ATW session today and provide you with my feedback.

The manual trades that I trade are simply opportunistic entries to gain some quick profit.

Some of the trading concepts could be coded to a certain extent I suppose however, there is once again quite a lot of discretion not only in opening the trades but also in knowing when they should be closed out for profit or for a small loss.

The EURAUD trades should be easy enough to understand.

Basically, it was waiting for price to close above the DO line (preferably on a bullish candle) looking to go long but only after considering the session time and the chart structure to the left, above and below the entry.

It was a FIFO (fast in-fast out) type of trade that is monitored very closely and then closed out after either enough small profit has been generated or price shows signs of stalling or price is close to a resistance level (key R or midR levels).

ps. if you need explanations please ask and I'll expand my commentary.

EG - cycle update

Closed out multiple trades in profit.

Idea being to generate a nice buffer profit while I allow and monitor ongoing trades in the current cycle.

Note: the Quantum value has been increased to 800 ..... why??

Just another chart that should be easier to see.

3 Buy Stops placed earlier were actually much higher up the chart but I dragged them down lower to get triggered closer to the PA .... the danger of doing this of course is that price just triggers them and then rolls over to the downside increasing the DD of the cycle.

Part of the risk versus potential profit dilemma ..... I'll continue to manage the cycle and take whatever steps are necessary to protect the account.

Note the SLs and the TPs and where they are positioned.

If price just clears the upper most entry which is about 9 pips or so below the DO line then I'll seek to close out all trades because the profit gained from the EG pair today is actually quite good considering mostly 0.01 lots per entry were applied (apart from 3 by 0.02 lot manual entries).

Many years of trading multiple trading strategies!

Note that this QAM style approach is NOT my main trading method by a long way.

However, I do trade it on >>$10K account over several trading windows on select pairs and its a beauty of a method.

You really need to be used to multiple entries in a given cycle of which I am and I have no problem monitoring and managing every single trade.

I see no reason why any other trader could not do similar with enough practice.

Be warned though you need to learn when to pull the trigger but more importantly what to do when the cycle starts to gain unfavorable DD.

I look forward to your input but don't go changing the strategy that you currently use (whatever that might be) since your account shows positive current progress and that's a good thing.

I still need to learn to be patien as you are . ( so much euros and pips lost , 5 out of 8 trades closed too early this month, still positive but could be much better)

Basically, it comes down to forming an expectation throughout the trading day of the pair(s) being traded.

More precisely forming an expectation of the likely price action but more importantly knowing what the risk is and when to start closing out trades.

If you look at the EG cycle I took it could have been closed out earlier in the day and still made over 0.6% gain (this would have included closing out several smaller trades for a loss) but I decided to let the cycle run with my major focus being on the recent swing lows.

If price continued to show bearish intent below these lows then trades would have been sequentially closed out!

I was aware of the risk but also aware that price had many obstacles to overcome on its way down for example, mini support levels and once Frankfurt Open starts price tends to move around quite alot giving the opportunity for price to push up closer to the DO line.

Again the risk of course is that the bulls don't enter the scene and price continues down.

At the lowest level I believe the floating DD was <3% (or near that figure) which is well below the maximum of 10% so again I was prepared to take on the risk and then subject to certain price levels being breached to the downside I would have started to close out trades.

Its never easy to know exactly what to do and as I have said before I see nothing wrong with closing out trades early with some profit.

Its always a lot easier to look back at trades in hindsight but far more difficult to know what is going to turn out more profitable in real time!

I also base some of my decisions on the profit buffer (if any) gained so far during the current trading day which can offset some of the risk the cycle might face by allowing it to trade into higher range sessions.

Heaps of practice will help make you a better decision maker BUT you will not make the best decision on every occasion as NO-ONE does.
The more experienced traders tend to have a better 'feel' for when to let trades run further and when not too.

But they get it wrong too!

Congrat to your trades in the morning ...
I was not be able to trade at Tokyo open because we had here power off as for heavy rain and Thundershower. Some parts are under water, I saw in the TVnews cars swimming in the water, the last time I saw similaries was at the Japan Earthquake. That is Global warming.

I looked back to the EUR/AUD Monday ... with an Quantum of 25 in the M5, there was a long Signal close to the DO line I guess a little bit earlier the time you enter the long trade ...

anyhow, just missed to go short in USD/CHF around .99

... actually I have some paid trading-advise-service but that is not as good as your trading style, 500 pips minus for the year. I learned that I have to check the trading recommendation with the Quantum boxes and then decide. That was more profitable the last couple of weeks.

The flooding sounds quite bad!

The EA trades I took were not based on Quantum number but more to do with price action trading and what is known as a C-Buy trade of the ABCD pattern with an entry just above the DO line and only meant to be for some quick profit.

Watch out trading the volatile pairs though because a trade unattended on a small or even larger account can lead to big trouble in terms of accumulating DD.

Unless your plan is to open up multiple trades in a large cycle on a given pair what you should be doing is waiting for a Quantum signal, then check the chart structure for pivot location and Daily Open line and S+R etc, then form an expectation of where price is likely to go both UP and DOWN but also checking previous swing highs + lows to your left, then decide the risk based on how many entries given a certain SL.

The Q box is not always the trigger for entry ..... very true for a small account but a larger account can be a little different however, the chart structure and any pending impact news and all the other trading factors should be considered prior to an entry or system of entries!
