.725 area has been a Very important support and resistance area going clear back to 1987. Today opened with 22 pip gap, has now closed gap. Pretty good speculating, Paul Daemon
"This is only speculation but I think 20 pip gap down maybe more."

This will be a difficult range to breach. Bottom 2 are monthly charts.

This level has been broken multiple times.... not an issue at all.

RBA is making historical low rates, we will see 0.69xx very soon.

It's also supported multiple times. It's the major support between here and .69, which I expect may be reached soon, but I think near term it will rise from here. I have a long pending at .7252 SL.7232 for today's pull back. Previous long from .7301 stopped out at .7273

if you really like long aud, you should try 0.6x level.

I have long AU since this morning as well.
.7250 is a good support area to long from.

Wave pattern from 4Sep15 low is a corrective a-b-c structure, which will eventually be retraced by the next downward move - therefore new low is expected.

More likely because most metals and oil are up today. And the big players in the market knew about the "news" from China ahead of time. They were sitting and waiting to buy shorts from us when the news came out. The most money I ever lost in the shortest time trading shares or forex was from shorting oil, CAD/USD and AUD/USD when the "news" came out that the oil summit talks designed to limit oil production broke down. The big boys ate my shorts. I intend to take news with a cup of salt and trade the CHARTS. That's my perspective.

Agree. Not so bad China News is a good news to the market I suppose. Since China is trying to cool down the overheated market and cut down on excessive supplies.

My pending long looks unlikely to attract interest, and if it did drop far enough to trigger it now it probably wouldn't be good, so I cancelled it. Took a long on AUD/JPY just after it crossed daily pivot, will only scalp on it though. I agree that overall direction for AUD is down, ever since it broke daily uptrend, and because of all previously discussed negatives for the economy. Will look for longer term shorts closer to .74, and only scalp longs. I think that .725 level will crack eventually, but as the charts show it's a strong point, and when it does break there should be a quick run down to .70

This due out tomorrow. Since they dropped rates, this will reveal their outlook on the factors they based their decision on. May give veiled insights into likely hood of further drops. See where we end up today, may be set up for a short tomorrow A.M.

The bearish trend is still in place on the AUDUSD, that is why after the current pullback shown on the daily chart, the pair may go back down.
