Coastline is pretty ordinary.......but there are probably worse places :-)

Thank you LuXing and Cop....I'm just looking for a nice, dull, cheap(er) place to pass a few months in the Winter (my Winter = November to March) - somewhere on the north side of Australia - hot and humid or hot and dry - nice coast and trekking in the area - good sized town or small city with some choices re: places to rent (eat, drink, buy veggies, etc), good high-speed internet....a trader's winter refuge in the sun. Am open to suggestions & promise I will not try to immigrate. 50c AUS to USD will be nice if/when & while it lasts.....

You'd be spoiled for choice in Queensland . Cairns gets the most extreme weather though, try closing a trade in a cyclone!

Me and my team of specialists have been up all night putting together a simple drop list for you

 

  1. hot humid summer, warm dry winter (far north and coastal): Cairns, Townsville, Gladstone
  2. warm humid summer, mild dry winter (coastal elevated areas and coastal south-east): Brisbane,Bundaberg, Rockhampton
  3. hot dry summer, mild dry winter (central west and north-west): Mt Isa, Emerald, Longreach
  4. hot dry summer, cool dry winter (southern inland): Roma, Charleville, Goondiwindi
  5. warm humid summer, cold dry winter (elevated south-eastern areas): Toowoomba, Warwick,Stanthorpe

well, I lean towards Cairns or Toowoomba, but I read the Mayor of Cans had made it legal to show your cans down at the Lagoon....that helps, he just needs to follow through now.....
