{quote} You can use several different platforms that also allow you to use automated strategies, e.g Multicharts and Ninja Trader. With regard to hedging, I don't know for sure. I heard that it is not allowed in the US ( it never made sense to me anyway). Yes, commissions are lower, this is because in the futures industry there is much more competition and inovation than in the FX business, imho.

Best Broker based current personal experience? Considerations: 1. Most important: ease and speed of withdrawals 2. Spread/Liquidity 3. Online back office: ease of moving funds in and out of multiple trading accounts 4. overall professionalism and quality of service. 5. Withdrawals to a broker branded MasterCard/Visa cash/debit card if available. 6. Others I missed?

My house TradeKing Forex qualifies for this list.

I would recommend you to choose PLUS500 broker. New plus500 deposit bonus will allow you to boost your account balance by maximum of 10,000 USD. + it provides you with different bonuses and support. Have been working with this broker for the past 2 years and it's been VERY good. There is a link for this broker in case of need: http://forextradingbonus.com/plus500-deposit-bonus/

I would not touch plus500 ever again. Their platform is not that great for a start and when trying to withdraw funds they throw every obstacle they can in your way. It took me months to eventually withdraw funds from them

Watch out traders, there are fake reviews of untrustworthy brokers all over the internet. Anyone can become an IB (introducing broker, similar to affiliate) and promote links to make money. They're going to try and assure you that the broker/s they are promoting are reputable. Its going to cause you a lot of wasted time and frustration unless you carefully choose a trustworthy broker.

My List of Trustworthy Brokers that I currently have accounts with and recommend:

1 TICKMILL - I'm using them the most lately because:

  1. the spreads are consistently tightest & commission is low (example: 1 Lot EUR/USD $4.52 USD in USD account)
  2. customer service is excellent
  3. funding and withdrawal is easy and competitive
  4. demo account and live account perform the same so no surprises after opening a live account
  5. they don't have a broker side plugin activated which delays order entry/closure - gives you slippage, etc
  6. *trustworthy - there isn't all kinds of complaints on the internet about them
  7. my ea's work properly
*I check Forexpeacearmy although there are some fake reviews its usually not hard to tell. You can also google Myfxbook broker reviews to find more real reviews, you can search here at Forexfactory to see what people are posting..

Notice how I'm not providing a link to some 3rd party website or IB-link to the broker, this is a real review, those are the features I look for in a forex broker.

MY RATING: TOPNOTCH TRUSTWORTHY FOREX BROKER

2 GLOBAL PRIME - They are a close runner-up. All of the notes above are the same except that the spreads are a little bit bigger and they only fund with wire transfer or credit card (3% fee on CC).

MY RATING: TOPNOTCH TRUSTWORTHY FOREX BROKER

3 TRADEVIEW - Another alternative broker that I use. I have a fixed account with them for trading some ea's. All of the notes above are valid except that the spreads on their commission accounts are quite higher then Tickmill.

Notice how there's no link to some 3rd party website or special link to the broker, this is a real review, those are the features you want to find in a broker.

MY RATING: RUNNER-UP TRUSTWORTHY FOREX BROKER

4 OANDA - Another alternative broker that I use and will use more later as my account size gets into 6 and 7 digits.. All of the notes above are valid except that their spreads aren't that competitive compared to Tickmill (but decent compared to many brokers.) The other downside is that they offer maximum 1:50 leverage. One more downside is that I've noticed a little bit of slippage sometimes on the mt4 account. The good is that they are highly regulated in many different companies with lots of offices, a long history in the forex business, very good customer service and aren't scammers.

Notice how there's no link to some 3rd party website or special link to the broker, this is a real review, those are the features you want to find in a broker.

MY RATING: HIGHLY REGULATED TRUSTWORTHY FOREX BROKER

I have tried about 15 brokers and spent at least 50 hours reading reviews, researching brokers. I'm Canadian so there are some A+ brokers I couldn't get accounts with (like Pepperstone). Perhaps if you are American, you can't use some of the ones I've listed.

I think if you're trading a larger account that it's a good idea to spread your funds across a few different brokers, so just in case something happens your money is not all at risk. For example, a couple years ago I had an account with Excel Markets who were a good company and scored high on all the notes above. The company unfortunately dissolved overnight from taking too much risk on some positions, luckily the money was in segregated accounts and not held up. In forex expect the unexpected and take precautions..

Most of the other brokers either have: non-competitive spreads, the broker side delay and f-u-over plugin installed, broker side auto-slippage plugin installed, crap customer service, lots of customer complaints online.. There are many brokers that will give you great service while you're losing and when you finally become profitable they'll turn on the broker side plugins or outright scam you somehow and then deny it and freeze your account and steal your money.

Tickmill has no mention of segregated bank accounts for client funds anywhere on their TOS or on their website. When you read a TOS/PDS from a regulated broker vs un-regulated(I view Ticmill un regulated), you can see that Tickmill terms are all about protecting the broker from the client. I am not saying that Tickmill is not a good broker but" expect the unexpected" like in the case of Excel markets.

MT4 is a good platform. It is not MT4 that cause ur loss, it is those people who stand behind it. There are thousands other things that they can do inside the house and do not show on your screen.

There is no true ecn on mt4 platform so do not bother to find one...

U can deposit by credit cards but beware of the fees. For example global prime charge 3% on credit cards. Some brokers are greedy and know very well that little guys who deposit by credit cards are most likely losers in the end so they want to made them lose more.

edit:
I checked again and found out Global Prime charge 3.25% handling fee on credit cards. Never feel good about this broker.

Ecn is a peer to peer network where buyers and sellers are interconnected.
Mt4 is a client server network where thousands of clients connected to the same server.

However mt4 server can be attached to ecn via a bridge that translate mt4 to ecn protocols. The result is not good.

Google ecn Forex, u can find lots articles.

I'm currently trading with TickMill and Darwinex. Can vouch for both.

Tickmill has better spreads and is more flexible with deposits/withdrawals.

Darwinex has the best regulations and all the other things are good as well.
