CPI data moderately positive for sterling, with the cross gently going down. I would use weakness to buy, expecting a test of area 0,7960 / 40. in that case, I think those levels should hold and bring new strenght, possibily later this week or next week. I sold around 0,8090 and 0.8073, took profit yesterday. Small short today before the data at 0,8026 closed too early, but profit is profit. Now I wait for more weakness to initiate a long position
perhaps....

well, 7960 held, and as long as it trades above, buy dips is the main idea for new highs
Shorts may find this area tricky to navigate. I closed mine just now and it looks as though a few others did too.

Interesting. I traded the daily inside bar off this level. On the UK time zone it took my short for 3 pips then reversed and stopped out. (Bollo***!!) I left a straddle trade so I'm now long.

Looking at your chart makes me feel like I'm using a blunderbuss.

i closed my long on friday for 0 pips because i am afraid for gaps against me on Monday so would give me crappy weekend. Would have had pips now though..
now i am waiting for a new opportunity.
expanding wedge broken...

Trend line since beginning of dec broken + 4hr candle closed below 200ema.
the white line on the weekly could have some effect. It is also at the monthly pivot point.
i will buy a weak bear after strong bull lower tf.
if it does not happen i don't buy.

It is an idea but I would not buy today at all until a strong hourly close above .7882. Also big Euro news in about 3 hours?

I see the day high as .7893, looks rejected by market so far... Even though figures out of UK were weak.

This pair and cable often like to respect midnight UK price. I use it as a rule. I think it is 01:00 CEST

I have no idea! Good question though. Probably a good idea to stand by with a 5 minute chart.

I like the pattern but for a trend reversal I would like to see some more confluence and price action.

the pattern is no longer valid. my sl is below the low.
