I don't think anyone of us has been holding anything back. Just a few days ago I posted that for my little ES experiment I was using a 3 point stop loss and a 3 point profit target and that I move my stop loss to reduce risk to 2 points or less once price moves 4 to 6 ticks in my favpr. Divergence has also shared his stops and targets and his trailing stop method here. But works for me might not work for D and what works for D might not work for me and what works for Cable or JR might work for no one but themselves. Trading is a very personalized activity.

The best learning is experiential, then YOU trust it. Basic structures like 2b's and 123's happen all over the chart, it's in what context that really matters. Notice on the Cableguys charts that the balance (choppy zones) points coincide, price moves either up or down out of them. Ask yourself this question. What was so important at 37.40 on his chart. All charts will have area's like that. Contraction to expansion back to contraction. And by the way there is no 50% in Fibanacci, but a 50 zone IS the number you will find over time that is meaningful. 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89. 50 ends up being important based on the idea of a bell curve of buyers and sellers. Where is the highest volume of buyers and seller? Not at the extremes, but in the center. What happens in the center? Chop, contraction, indecision......then a decision is made by somebody with a hell of a lot more money than we have. Expansion. Our job is to figure out what that dude with all the coin is doing and ride with!!!!!

It's all easy in hindsight, playing on the hard right edge is the trick in a moving environment.

I traded terribly today. My net after commissions will be either a small loss or a small gain. Over traded, anticipated set ups that never triggered, which left me in a poor position to capitalize on those set ups that did (and would have been easy winners). I'm going to go run some errands. I may come back to trade this afternoon - or I might just call it a week. Very disappointed in myself, especially as this had been a picture perfect week for my small account up until today.

Sorry for your loss, Divergence. Wonderful that he lived such a long life, but as tbjohnton said, losing a loved one is always tough for we who mourn.

My understanding is that the FED has called an expedited meeting to occur today, and I see that the FF calendar as a "Fed Announcement" listed as "tentative."
I do not know what to make of this. The FED has a regularly scheduled meeting for April 26.27. My concern isn't what they are going to do - my concern is that this is an unscheduled and unknown piece of market information and therefore, whatever the Fed says (or does not say) today could cause a sudden market movement one way or the other. I'd hate to be in a good set up and then get caught on the wrong side of a sudden illiquid move. I am seriously considering not trading today until this clears up.
