RenkoLiveChart_v600.6.mq4 is having issues for me with wicks still showing up when I have them turned off.

Comment: I don't have more time to figure the code and opted for a MT4 commercial renko indicator package that includes non-gap renko (post 1,226) and a MT4 tick chart extra --> £30 (Inclusive of EU Sales Tax). EA RenkoLiveChart v600.6 candles match the 30 package exactly, so my assumption is v600.6 is accurate.

I don't have any commercial interest or affiliate link with the said 30 pound MT4 package, however, if its of any interest - I have been running the package for a week with some light indicators and an EA on the generated rencko chart and so far all is good. On MT4 Terminals I trade only GU so only have two charts open at any given time (analysis being done on a different system). Beyond the M1 and Renko chart and some light indicators and an EA I cannot comment on multiple chart and masses of indicator performance. If of interest to anybody PM me and I'll give the name of the vendor which can be found via any search engine. Please note I am not endorsing the vendor and be aware, as mentioned, I have run the package for only one week.

Ok thanks I will most likely do the same and just buy commercial renko chart builder so I can be bug free on my setups.

Dear Traders to all who is fan of Renko chart,

Please please do not trade with renko chart, because the back test will show some very fantastic results, but the real live trading , many of times will be false signals,
any number renko setup will be damage the account balance, the renko will not give consist success result , becasue i have been use renko more then 2 years, i lost my account balance 60% from the 10k account, i have been tried many many indicators with renko, ichi, donchian, ma, ma cross, everything got wrong results, finnlay i trun to live market i try to understand whats goes live, renko will make always false because it will take data from min chart and convert to renko , this process will not give a accurecy, before anything happen like my account, please trade be aware of renko dangers data feed,

Interesting so how did you do backtesting with renko charts?

I'm looking for someone can help me to program an EA for this strategy . most important i wanna use it more for entry .As you see on the screenshot the strategy is very simple . on EurUsd i use 2 pip boxes Gbpusd 3 pips Gbpjpy 5 pips most profitable pair is the gbpusd

Entry Heiken change color entry on closed block (Heiken settings 1 20 2 1 ) Re enter the trade when renko start to go in the direction of the heiken ashi color again
Exit rules im still searching for the best exit rules any advice is welcome i mostly target 8- 12 pips many 8-12 pips per day or 2 opposite boxes or Heiken ashi color change EXit. During london and usa sessions my target is 20 pips per day on each pair sl 8 - 10 pips ( sl and TP must be manually changeable in the EA or switched of to uses the 2 opposite box rule during volatile hours )

Extra Idea as you can see there are several long runs that the heiken ashi stays in the same color, any idea how to stay in this micro trends sometimes give 12 - 15 pips back to the market before the heikenashi changes color

just to put the record straight my screenshot is a 3 pip renko box on eurusd i usually use 2 pips boxes .As you can see if go for a 8-12 pip trade with a 8- 10 pip sl there are many profitable trades
As you can see got my 20 pips for today on eur usd and i call it a day i used 8 pips sl and 10 pips profit rules

Hi guys The heikenashi Ea i posted works on mathtrader7 renko creator can someone fine tune this heikenashi Ea if the 10 pip target is hit and the trend continues by 2 following renko blocks in the same direction of the heikenashi to open a new trade .

Any help would be appreciated i got no idea to program this

I'm really enjoying using RenkoLiveChart v600.6. I've also been looking into building median renko charts. Based on the above post, what is the best option now for an EA to build median renko charts? Thank you for your time! -Jason

For purpose of general information I have included below some of response to your PM.

I have no affiliated links or interests with any of the commercial products mentioned below and would instantly drop any for a more suitable product.

I have not been able find a free reliable median renko. I do not use median renko but can comment on standard renko. I ran out of time trying to sort the code for a free standard renko (v600.6)* and purchased a standard renko from az-invest.eu. I have been running the az-invest renko daily since 12-Feb-2016 and have been pleasantly surprised how well it has performed. As far as my own experience goes, which of course does not garantee yours, I am 100 % satisfied and for $35 its a total win in flawless and low resource operation, saved time and reliability. The advert states a license for two PCs. This is misleading as the license is hardware locked per Hard Drive. My trading PCs have Hot-Swap Hard Drive caddies and I do a mirror image duplicate of the current working drive on weekends so that if I have a problem I can immediately hot-swap the currrent drive with the mirror image and I am immediately up-and-running. As the license is per Hard Drive not PC both license allocations are used so cannot be used on a second machine. If only one HD per machine is used then the license would cover two machines. MT4 installations per HD are unlimited.

To test the accuracy of the AZ-Invest.eu product a free trial of Sierra Chart can be downloaded to be used with a FXCM feed and a FXCM UK MT4 Demo can be downloaded. That way both feed and time are spot on. If I remember correctly, but not sure, AZ-Invest offer a 14 day trial before purchase.
If you go down the route of trial before purchase median renko in Sierra Chart is listed as Flex Renko (Box Size-Trend Off-Rev Off). Package 3 at $24/ month includes renko variants and other exotic candles. The minimum block purchase is 1 month. Toward the end of a block a notice of days left will pop on the platform but no email reminders are sent and it is a self renewal service without nagging spam. The Support Board is very fast with official response. After expiration all downloaded data to date will still be available and accessible. FX, Indexes and Commodities real-time data goes back to 2007. It would thus be advisable to save the data file, or make complete backup of the Sierra Chart Folder. Caution: If a Sierra Chart Renko or Flex Renko setting is changed after a block purchase has expired those setting will be lost and cannot be retrieved - renko or flex setting are unavailable on expired blocks. An option is, during the trial period, to download duplicates of the same FX pair and assign each different settings for reference, record and study.

* As mentioned in a previous post v600.6 ShowWicks = false will initially print candles without wicks but after some time will print (only) reverse candles with wicks.

Below is a sample comparision of RenkoLiveChart v600.6 (Left) and the AZ-Invest commercial product (right), both on same MT4 Terminal and hense same data feed.

  1. The red arrow marks an anomally between the two charts.
  2. The AZ-Invest chart matches Sierra Chart exactly candle for candle.
  3. All 3 mentioned charts have the same data feed and time stamp.
  4. Depending on requirements v600.6 may be adequately accurate and at least good for demo.

EAs are dependent on ticks and during slow markets and weekends ticks are slow or absence resulting in the EA on the M1 chart not updating a change in renko box size on the generated renko chart. One solution is to employ a tick generator to supply false ticks.

As can be seen the ShowWicks = false problem with wicks showing on reverse candle, as with the EA, persists in the indicator.

Re Enquiry

Code requires - Allow DDL imports - to be checked.

If markets are closed and the M7 offline chart does not show in - File → Open Offline - try closing and opening the MT4 Terminal.
If markets are open but ticks slow changing the M1 chart timeframe to M5 and back to M1 sometimes works to update candles on the renko (M7) generated chart.
