A/U 04-00 break. {image} the 04-00 range was 15 pips which I like. I do prefer 20 though. it dropped and I actually got 8% return and my minnions got 5%. So 26 from 26 trades and 33% return for my happy ladies. hopefully I shall stick some stats in later, trade well all. edit, on chart , the blue arrow is the 04-00 4 hour candle.

Cable, Daily Break. the low broke then retraced 30, so nothing stopping the adventurous shorting it off the retrace say at -10 or -20 or -30 .the +10 hasn't been made yet. the 04-00 candle has not been broken yet.
I think with retrace trades it is more opportunist really.

3edit... lol as I typed above it dropped. I forgot to add the time

Hi Pip, I have been there and done it. Been on the ropes on the canvas. A good thing I have done in the past with trainees is get everything ready for a trade, wait for set up etc and then close the pc down and look for the second trade. we have plenty of opportunities....
Trading the Daily or 04-00 candle we can only have either an inside bar or a break of high/low. I look for 5 % daily ...
5% can be £5 or £50 or more and it all adds up...
I look for 5% for the minnions but those trades are more selective as the lot size is a lot higher than my humble one

Pip, if it makes you feel better, I once lost 30k on a trade as I had a soft ware problem, that hurt but not as much as the next loss which was totally my fault as I misread info due to not having my contacts in yay ouch.

{quote} Hello Mr T. I am not too sure of your meaning. The actual high/low break is very successful. When you say close, do you mean next candle to carry on in the direction of the close? if so I did look into it and for what ever reason I stopped lol.

@Billytt

No, young William. Take the close of the 4 am, four hour bar, and imagine a horizontal line at that point ( the close). Then trade either side of that point for your five pips.
Is that any clearer Billy ?

Mr T, good morning. How about this. ENGULFING BARS. I am not speaking outside bars as such. If the body of the candle is bigger than preceding candle ( forget the wicks) this a good clue. you may need an other tool for more info. A friend passed this info on. I shall look for examples.

yes -I like engulfing bars but I think their position (levels etc) dictate their probability of success. I think "Engulfings" relate to momentum, rather like throwing a stone; the bigger bar indicates some overpowering force being used and if there is nothing in the way, off price goes. Bit like Pin bars in the right location -gives some insight into flow?

erm, so you trade off the next tick. I honestly do not think that can be done unless you have maybe an entry point ... example it closes at point A and draw a lines +/- or 4 or 5 then enter off this.

Example.... A/U today.. the 04-00 close at 7565. next candle rose to 7566 then it dropped.

Some information on outside bars. I looked this up quickly so don't take it as the definitive guidance on such matters. Do some research
http://tradingwithpriceaction.com/en...r-trade-setup/

Inside bars - google them (you have to sort out the scammers, system or grail sellers, from genuine discussion-as you would with all information searches on the web). You Tube has articles etc but the same caveats apply.

Your idea sounds plausible -what do you think (I'm aware you are vastly more experienced than I. Therefore, I would appreciate your opinion.)?

I am well into inside bars it was my forte' with E/J Daily Inside Bars and the 4 hour candles are good (some one on FF got me onto them) but engulfing bars are different. I think perhaps they are more for the impatient lol. From what I have seen they do look worth more studying.

I did look at this a long time ago as I said and I cannot remember the outcome lol.
I honestly do not think it can work unless you have an entry added after the close +/- ? pips.
today for instance it would of failed.
If I look at a system/method if you have to scroll back for winners it cannot be good. today failed

edit. G/U failed today too.

Just to be fair -yesterday was a crappy day for trading Brent (for me anyway). I get crappy days but my ego rarely lets me post them. I prefer tub thumping days like today albeit I may have been risking it with some crappy pins which, fortunately, were Inside Bars.

How about go with momentum. if the 04-00 candle closes green long it and if it closes red short it.
Don't forget we are primarily trading off the Asian session.

edit, Mr T, the above actually looks good.

edi again, except so far today it is failed and yesterday the same lol
