DislikedJust to share some of the settings that have worked best for me along with the crew. I am still using "remon78eg 2 part1" Settings BUY & SELL Steps: 300 Min TP 1 Trading Pair: EURGBP I am on a GBP account so for those who are on USD accounts you may want to use Min TP of 2 or 1.5 (I'm not sure whether it handles decimal points) I know some of you out there will not like it when I use the word "Backtesting". Either way, I am of the opinion that backtesting at tickmode is a very good "indication" on how the EA will perform and will have some relevancy...Ignored
Disliked{quote} @IngussB Thanks for the backtest! What might be a practical problem (for most traders) is a $50k account... Would you mind running another test on a 1-Minute chart...? It might give better results...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Sorry guys I didn't mean it in that way. I guess I got a little excited about her latest EA. I think its even better than my own personal EA. I especially want to thank Remon because without him starting this thread Voldemar would never have come here and we would not have the gem that she created. I hope Remons EA is good too I just have more belief right now in the EA from Voldemar called: remon78eg March 30 2016 Good Luck and Good Trading!Ignored
Disliked{quote} 0 modeling quality and over 2000 mismatches in backtest. backtest is there to test if your system is working and opens/closes orders how it should, it will not act like a forward test and results must be ignored. For those who don't belive that backtest is worthless i can pm an ea that does fantastic in backtest and decimates an account in a week or less.Ignored
Disliked{quote} @IngussB Thanks for the backtest! What might be a practical problem (for most traders) is a $50k account... Would you mind running another test on a 1-Minute chart and with a MUCH SMALLER TP (e.g. $2)...? It might give better results...Ignored
Disliked{quote} @keydcuk Thanks for the settings. I agree that keeping TP low will keep the DD away... Would you mind also sharing the LOT SIZE and the ACCOUNT SIZE you used for the backtest with the mentioned parameters? P.S. I would be VERY curious to see your backtest results with the mentioned parameters. Thanks!Ignored
Disliked{quote} In backtesting, so long as you are using tickmode, I didn't think TF made any difference as it is on tick. Am I wrong in saying this? I am unfamiliar with the backbone of strategy tester in tickmode.Ignored
DislikedToday's trades: +649 Euros NET profit as of now (also see Trade Explorer). {image}{image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} FROM POST 1216 Hi Carneiro, i did quick test for DE30 M1 from Jan-Mar 2016 [ this is where previous EA tested by Master Guru failed ] and it went well. Now I will run detailed test for longer perion to see if this survive. Thanks for this. mojepole {image} {image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hi MG- Do you keep this EA running or activate it at what time GMT. ThanksIgnored
DislikedHi Remon I been testing your modified version today, however, when I get to 1 buy and 1 sell order, no more new trades are opened. Even when I change the settings to close all deals at $1 {image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} @keydcuk As far as I know MT4 backtest "tick data" are only virtual tick data with "tick mode" testing. With 5-Minute testing the MT4 uses 4 data of each 5-minute candle: Open, High, Low, Close, and the price movements inside each M5 candle are SIMULATED in "tick mode", which makes higher time-frame results are very unreliable. With M1 candles the price variances are lower (i.e. inside M1 candles), so results are more accurate. (Backtests with M1 candles takes much longer time, because 5x more data have to analyzed.)Ignored
DislikedMr Remon (and Voldermar), I've been studying grid trading for a while and have been working with someone else's EA that does grid trading and hedges. I must say, this one does a lot more in loss recovery than a linear hedge will ever be able to. However in my studies of grid trading, I have learned by what I have read as well as I have tested this myself, ..."Can I make the request that we can set the distance pips of the levels of the grid ourselves?"Ignored
