There goes a lot of people's meal ticket.

Unfortunately, there were more leeches who were just looking for free analyses and didn't even contribute. I'd be pissed-off too if I were him. Anyway, there's always the G/J thread.

Did not get much from this thread. Different ppl with diff views. Nothing focused or concrete.
You want weekly analysis there are tons. And no one is going to guilt me into paying without proving themselves. If you do not have time for this then don't do it. Hey pay me some funny money and I will come out with the flavors of the week too.

It has been the same with every good thread here and elsewhere. One guy will open up a thread, put effort into analysis and when he is gone the leeches will complain. This is probably the only reason that has held me back opening a thread which I would really like otherwise.

I should we should all be a wee bit realistic here and understand many of these threads get started with the sole purpose of getting some subscribers to help guarantee some income. Seems every thread starts with free information...then suddenly the work becomes too time consuming and they have "no choice" but to start charging, even though they really don't want to.

I have seen it a hundred times, not saying this is not an exception, but let's remember we are all in this to ultimately make some money.

Are you for real? There were many "wannabe guru's" that hijacked this thread.
The main idea of this thread was to share and learn "Geppy's way of trading" by following his weekly outlook. However some traders started making so much noise with their own set ups that this thread was no longer useful.

As a log of trades taken and how he managed those trades after posting his weekly outlook, the thread is very useful and will retain its usefulness until deleted. Whats even better is that if you take a chart, take the all the calls that people made (the ones where they show their entries before the trade plays out) and just follow along on a pair, you can see what works and what doesn't. Gives you a base to come up with a theory on price movements you can maybe one day trade from.

As a signal provider? Yeah you're right, this thread became useless.

If you're in it to become better at trade selection then this thread is still very useful for anyone who hasn't already gone through all the posts and attempted to replicate what he did and maybe others as well.

If you're in it to follow along with his current trades trades then yes, this thread is no longer useful.

Why are you talking about signal providers? This threat was never about it. It was more about analysis and swing treading throughout the week or two.

Haven't been to this thread for the last few days, so missed all the action/banter. I'm pretty shocked people think this way, but I suppose there are always a few like that.

You guys honestly think I had some grand plan of building a reputation on FF for the last NINE years, becoming a respected member of the community, only to attempt to bait people into a service?

PAHHHHLEASE!

The truth is, I was trying to bend and manipulate FF into something it isn't. I started this thread hoping to create a serious community solely dedicated to a style of trading I've had great success with. I wanted to find like-minded individuals that would post their opinions on the same setups and perhaps challenge my way of thinking in an intelligent way. I wanted a thread that would be more quality than it is noise. More useful than entertainment.

And it was that for a short while.

But then, like others have mentioned, it turned into what all FF threads turn into... a place to blow off steam, get out of the nitty gritty of your own trading, chuckle at ridiculous setups and charts others are posting, and just sit back and think to yourself "man, I remember when I was that naive". Its like having CNN on during the trading day. Not because they're going to provide value by listening to what they have to say. But because it's background noise. It's something to fill the void when there's nothing else to focus on.

And maybe, maybe once in awhile you'll be able to make money by taking a contrarian view on what the masses are touting.

But that's all FF generally is and I feel a fool for trying to change that. So yes, I had to take steps to ensure I had the environment I tried to create here. It's working.

And I can now still come to FF for my daily dose of CNN Money. But nothing more.
