Hello Cardm3n, the 2nd part involves a second chart not on MT4. I personally draw it by hand on graph paper. Basically it has trade count number on the x axis and the win/loss value on the y axis. Then I plot a simple moving average. When the win/loss value drops below the sma value I start a type of martingale.

Very interesting. If you do not mind, would you workout how the months of November and December of last year played out using this method? I didnt check november, but december was rather bad and would like to see it applied to a worst case scenario.

Thank you again for sharing BubaYaga. We need more of these "Out of the Box" ideas.

out of interest, did you stop in December for the holidays.
for me, usually from 20. Dec till about 10.Jan there is a no trade period, in general. for the obvious reasons.
there is always, always another trade!!

I think most of the serious traders ignore that period.
if not for family time, then just because of lower liquidity and wider spreads?

I did not trade it this past year as I had another small business venture I started during that time, so it would have made a difference I am sure.

One thing I have noticed in the backtest that BubaYaga posted, he is using spread of .2 pips. Is it just me? Or do most brokers have a much higher spread than that? Currently I get 3 pips to 4 pips range. I havent seen any brokers with .2 pips spread.

it is your broket.
change to any of the ECN brokers, and you should get about that spread.
my currect CJ spread fluctuate between 0.2-1 pip, with average about 0.5....far bellow 3-4, even if commissions added in.
there is always, always another trade!!

My Lmax account gives me 1.5, same as another "Shody Regulation" broker. I do most of my trading at LCG, which has 3 pips spread. May I ask what broker you use? .2 pips sounds pretty damn sweet.

OP uses Darwinex according to his live TE on the thread.
I use ICMarkets.
But checking the spread on demo ECNs both GlobalPrime's and FXopenUK's offer <1 pip spread on CJ.

1.5 pip definitely not too good on LMAX.
At one point considered to change there, not anymore.

Yeah, LMAX is a little over hyped to be honest.
