Light or dark background for charts?

From a medical point of view asking this
Full time day trader has to look at the chart maximum time, it will generally create eye strain.
I have seen big financial websites or in any stock exchange floor, they mostly use black or dark background...
What is your choice? You feel comfortable on dark or light background for charting ?

i use a background setting of 4,6,6 just slightly above pitch black, otherwise there is too much contrast with the candles which strains the eyes a bit. also 4,10,10 or 4,15,15 etc

Can you share your background settings?

I use "WhiteSmoke", it's almost white but hanging to gray.

Never used black (or dark colors), but i know many people love it.

I like a grey background to reduce eye strain, try 205,205,205 and Bull candles White, Bear candles black.

i also changed the order entry('volumes') and stop lines('stop levels') to more subdued colours because the red and lime were too distracting

From the beginning I was using light background...it gives to me better indication to understand price action...again it varies trader to trader. I am somehow habituated with light background..shifting back to black one could be difficult...but for news calender & other extra non price action related data I use Black background it looks nice.

I found blue or green is very relaxing...So this is my chart background..using tunera's white smoke idea.

If anyone wants gradient effect then use true color indicator for it..
