Thank you for the video Damian. As you've probably noticed I'm very found of harmonic moves. I can't decide where to enter or get out without first projecting harmonics in my charts. It's a very powerful tool. I use them for both short term and long term. In E/U pair they work extraordinarily with very high precision. Actually it really amazes me how precise they are and still i wonder how can this happen. I almost feel like i need to do a proper research to find out the reason and the cause that makes them happen.

There is bridge solution available ( free for 2 instruments ) at http://conscioustrading.net/?page_id=1956 . I use it and it works very well bridging the trades between Ninjatrader and Metatrader.

I've had a good look over your EJ trade Asmodai........

Appears you waited for a retrace of price close to the 786 Fib (just shy of the mark actually) and entered on the next sign of a bearish candle with a glance of some rotation in price.

I think you did quite well considering it was a live trade.

In hindsight and also live trading it would have been possible to simply wait for a retest of that 786 Fib level but the trouble with that is you might have missed a good short down if price kept going.

You should always try to look at techniques you can apply to your trading that can limit your DD!
This is far easier to say than to do because you never really know how much DD a given entry will get no matter the confluence of multiple factors.

I think you made a great trade ..... well done!

As far as I know it's free forever. I would imagine being logged into FXCM through Ninja would keep the account active and alive. :-) Mine hasn't been cancelled yet, and I'll just make a new demo if it does. lol I do have a live account with them as well, I like them. (I had issues before with spread on a demo account, but I spoke with someone who cleared that up.)

Good Morning Traders,

This could be useful to those who use tradingview as their charting package. I just figured out that you can turn on # of Bars, Distance (pips), and Angle of lines that you draw. You can also have the stats always shown or just shown when you mouse over them. Pretty cool to get a more detailed assessment of your momentum lines.

If you double click the line you'll have access to these options in the style. Pretty cool and could be useful for your analysis. For example with USDJPY this morning, it's moving up at a pip per bar and the angle of the momentum is increasing.

Update: I'm not sure if distance is in pips actually... but it can help with your analysis just by seeing if it is increasing or decreasing.

Hello Traders,

2 trades today one BE +4 and one for 16 not too much but a green day! Market was a bit tough today but read it pretty well. I am pleased. Missed the big trade of the day but that's life. I'm in my last trade of the day. Will post the chart when finished.

Mr. Pip -

I was confused by something today.

-The /ES made a small projection NSH (white circle) which then gives expectation of a deep pullback with a NSH following.
-Price came and broke prior swing low (yellow line)

At this point I wanted to go short as it broke a prior swing low however stopped myself because I wasn't sure what this means.

Because it broke a prior swing low while still within the main swing (cyan line) that does not give the go ahead to short, it just turns price action into a complex correction right? The expectation is still a NSH unless the low of the main swing (1976) is taken out, correct?

Edit - To clarify, what I meant by saying that I wanted to go short was that I wanted to look for a pullback to play a short.

I kind of have a theory and its just a theory but here it goes....

There some big fish in the sea with a lot of money at play. They cant just go into a market and buy/sell 100 billion dollars of any financial instrument. So they have to buy/sell them in increments whether it be half now and the other half on the PB or a third now and a third later and the rest after that. with each buy and sell on pullbacks. thats why you get the 1 to 1's, 3 drives patterns, etc.... basically the average in and then average out in areas of (or create their own areas) of liquidity.

now the pullbacks maybe a part of their manipulation or others trading against em (retailers and such). who knows but they wait for a better price then engage their other portion of their investment. I would assume that they use retracements like the 50% before initiating.

The reason you get varies size of harmonic moves is all based on their portfolio size and how many whales are playing the game. some team up and some are competitors. This doesn't mean all whales play the same game some are fundamentalist, some technical, some bots/algo's, etc but they all have to buy and sell.

Like I said, just a theory... Tomorrow i'm going to see why McDonalds doesn't sell hot dogs.

My initial thought is that price will have a complex deep correction with a reversal. The reason for this is that we just got a confirmation that bulls/bears wants to take over but that doesn't mean the other side just rolls over and give up. Of course I take into consideration things like order flow (projection of new NSX, momentum), volume and price action as well as structure.

Maybe some of you guys made some backtesting and can provide numbers on this? Otherwise I will try to look at it but it will have to wait a few days, going on a business trip.

This morning I took the USD/JPY long I wrote about yesterday. It is currently up 60 pips and I have locked in ten. Trade management still feels a bit amorphous to me-- do I lock in more so as not give all that back, or do I give my trade more breathing room? At any rate it is near some structure so I'm not sorry to be at break even plus a little something.

I am also short USD/CAD. My original stop was quite roomy which I regretted when it moved far against me as you can see in the chart, but in this case I guess that was good because it came back around again. Up about 70 pips, locked in 20.
