Yes, but you are not really looking for short trades because bounce on D was not below 200EMA, correct?

Or you only care for daily to be under 200 when we are looking for bounces of 4H?

That is correct. The general rule I follow is price is bull when above 200ema on Daily, 4H and 1H. Bear when below. I try not long on a downtrend and short on an uptrend unless there's indication of a reversal on the daily. Sometimes you'll see price bounce off the daily DC only to retest it days later.

Do you stop following swings on 4H or 1H, when daily price touched lower D channel?


2. We can delete MA's and MAOMAH's from indicators list, as they are not being used....you are only using 200EMA, correct?

1. Only when price has reversed off of opposite channel. Sometimes it will hit opposite side channel and continue the trend pushing the channel wider.

2. I use the 200ema to show if price is either in bear or bull trend. 100ema is used to show strength of trend via width between 200ema.

You can pick and choose which indicators to use/disregard. Which ever system you find that gives you positive feedback and confirmation. This system is a culmination of others and may change over time. For the here an now it's what I like to use.

I understand ..I am trying to look at this technique as purely mechanical , therefore just trying to simplify my screen as the MA's and MAOMAH's, except 200EMA, was never used at any point...

Your definition of "price reverses" and stop taking short trades is when daily price is above daily 200EMA?

Here is Version 1.80 of the EA. I optimized the indicators values, and I added an input "Real-Tick BackTest?"to the settings that it must be set to true in order to backtest the EA with real-ticks.

Thanks Math, any particular reason why you ran it on a m30 chart? Great results and check out the short / long win-to-loss ratio, very interesting. I'll run it today, thank you!

I optimized the input settings for M30 and H1, and the results of M30 are better than that of H1.

No, because the daily is trending up. Risky move.

edit: For a quick scalp I guess you could, looked like a 40 pip move. Get in, get out. But generally I would wait for the pull back and confirmation on the daily direction.

You entered a Buy trade when D and 4H price was under 200 EMA...is it not a contradiction to earlier statement?

I placed a pending order right at the D 200 EMA. Reasons being we had price at bottom of DC looking like a possible bounce up. We also had DSS/TDI/CCi reversing at the bottom on the D, 4H and 1H at the same time. Very powerful signal.

Hello MathTrader7.

May I ask some stupid question about ea setting? ( please forgive me about bad english )

I want to know about more detail about "Move to Breakeven" and "Trailing Stop Loss"..

Like image below,

for example: if ea open a short ( sell ) trade.

if price move down about "200 points" ( MTBE Kick In setting ). EA will modify stoploss OrderOpenPrice() - "MTBE Distance" ( about 50 points ).

Am I understanding correct?

To protect if price roll back, and we will still have positive position for closing.

And same as Trailing Stop loss

If ea open a short ( sell ) trade.

if price move down about "300 points" ( TSL Kick In ). System start to work.

EA will set stoploss from OrderOpenPrice() - "TSL Distance" ( 200 Points ).

If price keep move down 100 points ...EA will move stoploss down 100 points.

Am I understanding correct?

Because I did lot backtesting. If I dont open "Move to breakeven" and "Trailing stop" .... profit might be negative.

But if I open both, profit will be positive.

Because some trade after singal shown. It will in the same direction and singal... But after few bar it turn to different direction.

It might be problem different about H1 and M30. we can close trade before it turn into negative.
