Part of the problem we are dealing with here as that the futures sold off after the cash close, and the cash and futures prices are out of line from their usual premium/discount relationship. That is why cash has moved a lot and futures are stuck.

Challenging day but not without movement... and speaking of movement, I can't help noticing that the NQ has both 40+% more range and volume than even the YM (I'm just sayin'...)... NQ ATR mulitply by 4 to get tick range :

got the pb got up 25 locked in 20 so finished day with 50 ticks. I feel like I pulled a rabbit out of a hat today lol

YM & NQ are indeed the same tick size @ $5, just different point size as you say.

.... & btw, H, if I was averaging = or > 50 ticks / day, I wouldn't change nuttin'...

Of course, holding until there's a Close beyond a trend line can be a good idea (in this case, at least twice as good an idea...) :

imo, the NQ should be measured in points, not ticks. 10 to 20 point moves (40 to 80 tick moves) are commonplace - even when the YM and ES go into a less volatile, more sleepy sideways environment. Also, old-fashioned trend lines and simple patterns like wedges, flags, and penants seem to "work" more regularly on the NQ than on the YM and ES, in my experience.
