Here is the action this past week on the EUR/USD 30 min chart using the Vertex entering, mid point or exiting Libra as a reversal, always in the market timer.... 640 pips could have been made.... Astrolog 5.4 gave the timing points, Oanda chart... all times are EST.

Hi Maximus...

Set Astrolog to your server time zone... I am using Oanda MT4 charts and their server time zone is EST... At other times I may use another MT4 provider with a server time zone of GMT +2 (CET).... set the lat/long to the server location as well...

NY trading is very light today because of a National Holiday, President's Day. I see the Vertex signatures as "inflection" points. Last week they were reversal points but other inflections are also possible such as

Down trend to up trend
Up trend to down trend
Down to sideways
Up to side ways
Sideways to up
Sideways to down

then there are continuation patterns that have an extra push at an inflection point...

Mild down pattern gets more aggressive in the down trend
Same with mild up pattern

I wish it was as easy as 1 reversal pattern! I am seeing a down pattern getting more aggressively down starting at 9 am EST... We'll see if there is a reversal at
10:58 (11 am) EST in a few minutes, as Vertex leaves Libra... or the next event is this afternoon at 4:10 pm EST When Vertex enters Capricorn....

Mid-point of Vertex in Libra marked a nice bottom for the day, Monday Feb 15th... with quiet markets in NY from the holiday, only 40 pip rise... not bad though...

That is interesting. Today, i had a lunch with a banker, and he detailed his worry of our situation very similar with 2008 situation. It will be fascinating if you just look at how moon in aries performing trine (120 degree) with Venus (Rx) in retro. ^_^ of course i did not bring this up. However for a short term trade i would suggest to find correlation between moon in fire signs, and moon in earth signs making trine with venus. We probably could figure out a useful guide for day to day trade.
I learned we cannot disregard technical / fundamental entirely, rather that we complemented with astro, to figure out the next price action will be.

I've lurked for awhile but never posted here so please forgive the low post count. Its nice to see some serious discussion of actual trade ideas. I'm interested to know how you (or anyone) would construct a trading plan around a setup like this or jnevins' vertex points. I find these kinds of rules very difficult to trade because they often look different based on the granularity of the chart. For example, the first chart below has last 6 instances of moon trine Venus while the moon was in either a fire or earth sign (the price bars are colored based on the element of the moon, vertical line is the aspect). On the 30 minute chart a few of them seem to indicate changes in trend, but not all moves are significant, some only last a couple of bars. Others might be several bars from the actual turn but if you back out to a 4 hour chart it will be at a fairly large top or bottom (sometimes in the opposite direction of what the turn looks to be on the shorter term chart). Is there a specific time frame for the move/turn you are looking for?

I usually end up finding most of the things I test to be no better than random, even though they look significant on a chart. When the caveat is "it could go up, down or sideways at this point" then it is difficult to find an edge in. Please don't take that as a criticism as I am also a student of astro in the markets and appreciate the difficulty to discover ideas and the courage it takes to share them publicly.

The second chart is a 15m chart of jnevins' vertex in Libra for the last 6 occurrences. The bars are colored yellow when the New York vertex is between 180 and 210. The plot under each chart is of the NY vertex just to help confirm it and I believe I am looking at the same time periods he shows in his charts. There are certainly some turns during these periods, sometimes at the front or back and sometimes in between somewhere. But I also notice the other signs exhibit the same characteristics. I guess I am saying that nothing unusual stands out to me from sign to sign. Again, not a criticism, I am just interested in learning how you extract an edge from this.
