Hey team! It looks like we finally got exactly what we were waiting for last night... finally!

My position is now a bit more than 200 pips in the money and many of you should have the same.

Now for the bad news: The hardest part of the trade is now upon us. And that is... staying pat!

Everything is telling us that we're ready to continue the downtrend. Do you have the patience and discipline to hold this trade like a true swing trader? Remember, in the weekly outlook I outlined a potential target of 156.50 -- and it could go even lower.

I've always made my largest profits simply holding on to a good trade and letting it run. I hope some of you are ready for it!

GBP/USD is the main driver of this move in GBP/JPY right now. Just like I outlined in the weekly update, we've now broke down through the wedge that we were stuck in:

Hopefully for those that are not GBP/JPY traders sold the break of this support. I didn't trade it because I don't want to be overexposed to GBP seeing as I'm already in a GBP/JPY trade.

So GJ broke, and as usual, it ran stops before going. Hit my 166 so i'm out for the 1st portion of that move. I took a 2nd position at 164.5 just above the weeks open (sunday). There will be pull backs and i will have other entries as well as profit locks. So far i'm -100p realized gain/loss and somewhere around +120p on unrealized. My overall target is the 160-161 area.

We have some good news coming out for the pound (good meaning it'll probably introduce a little volatility) so either it goes straight to profit or there be a lot of swinging, crying, and singing.

Sorry to hear about the stop getting hit initially, man. Never fun when that happens let alone when it happens and then immediately reverses in what would have been your favor. But it does happen, so gotta deal with it. Glad you found a new entry, and you're right... there will be pullbacks with opportunities to add more. I do think your target is conservative though.

Well done mate, i got in short at 165.15. your right, now is the hard part to stay in the trade and not cash out. i am going to stay in this trade till 157 ish or it could just take me out at be, i was very impressed with your determination and discipline last week in keeping your trade open. Im inspired to do the same. This is a big lesson for me. thanks for being an inspiration Geppy

Yeah it happens. It's just the way the market is. You can learn from it and use it to your advantage or become stricken by fear and doubt and add another year or two to the learning curve.

My target is conservative from a daily point of view but unless price really pushes through 160, then i'll be in a position where i will begin to doubt. I don't want to be looking at a position thinking about how i shoulda or coulda. My mind tends to wander into those directions sometimes. If price does go to the 160-161 area then i'll be taking off 2/3rds to 3/4ths of the position. If it runs then there will be opportunity for re-entry. There always is.

Hi Geppy,

I was already in the GU daily trade from NY close and didn't had a chance to catch the 4hr candle sell entry (on GJ) at work...True about overexposure. I'm already in GU so why not just focus on GU and wait for a nice pullback on GJ (If I want to be on the sell side)...Anyone who caught the 4hr candle move on GJ, keep holding it because you got a very nice price and if it goes back to 160.000 see below how your R:R looks...just amazing

Hi,

I completely missed the breakout due to being at work . do you guys think it's worth putting a short on the last few pips? support is at 12347 on my chart.

If not, i'll have to wait for another opportunity on another pair and hope i'm not looking the other way!
