I like your chart better less flat areas though there were some simalarities yet there setups you did not get that I did don't know if that's good or bad but we can only trade whats in front of us

yes my chart had better setups yesterday. So this tells me just trade whats in front of you the end results will be similar to a degree. Bottom line is everyday is a winning day. Remember to set a daily goal mine is 50 anything more than that is gravy. also when you have done that for say 2 weeks making 180 to 200 ticks advance to 2 contracts and finally 3 contracts. you really don't need to go higher than that the risk is225 a trade but your acct has grown to do that.So far no partial fills so that's why I just stay at 3 contracts and if your doing 180 to 200 ticks a week well with 3 contracts that's 2700 to 3000 a week. plenty to live on

Yeh, tough whipsaw day, but net win anyway.

I noticed a funny thing. Usually I trade in front of a very big HD monitor. But today I traded from laptop (was not at home) and what strikes me, I was better focused with small laptop. Hmm. Have to try it more often and see, if that's the case in the long run.

laptop showed a little different also while I was checking on 30 second chart to see PA if it kicked me out I noticed the nice setups on that chart. sometimes the new bar is 30 seconds so I will investigate this. there were a lot of trades and wins​

wow the 30 second chart is looking very nice today would have been yesterdays result and yesterday would have done better than today. the nice thing about the 30 second chart is the countdown you know when it will happen. is this to fast? NO tick charts sometimes print in less than 30 seconds. you have enough time to see setup and prepare to enter. I will continue to investigate this years results and see if its a viable minor change. the 999 tick stays the same for momentum direction​

results not terrible but you know if its not broken don't try and fix it everything will remain the same. Not looking to change my lady YM love her just the way she is sometimes she gets kinds like a diva going one way while I am going the other.​

My trading style is a little different and thus i need a different pattern to play out. Today was really tough - i ended up switching all of mine to the 20sec charts to try and create the peaks and troughs i need... The 1min has been mental, straight up, straight back down on literally all pairs and index's i'm watching... very difficult to trade whereas yesterday was complete opposite.

I stopped early. A new day tomorrow.

Yesterday we knocked it out of the park nice and easy. Today very very hard win loss win loss win loss though ended up +50 the last trade got me that. Not everyday is a walk in the park no need to change anything all part of the business we are in

Copy that (for just a moment back there, you had me worried...).

The only retail trader I know who has made many millions trading - he reads a chart like no-one else I have ever met - still uses the same indicators as in 2000.

Support, resistance, trend & momentum... that's about it.

its interesting when you have a tough day the first thing you want to do is tweak something so the only thing I did tweak is my memory of yesterday when I hauled in 127 ticks

Although in agreeance regarding no need to change anything with system, i am finding that for me, i can change timescales to find the trend that i am after without being detrimental to the trade set-up. Here is why i mentioned earlier my willingness to change timescales.

First a section in the red circle on the 1min DAX this evening;

The cycle long was straight up, so if you weren't already on board there was nothing to trade at that time. However, watching it on the 10sec chart it looked like this;

The mid section is the 'safe' trade and i now find my trade set-up. I know no-one else here trades on such timescales. This is not what i am suggesting at all, merely to explain that in my instance, by changing the timeframe (not the system), i can find more trades. What was a straight line on the 1min, now becomes a suitable trend. This was low risk, high probability and even with a 1pip spread, was worth trading for 15pips gain...

All i can say is that i hope this volitility never ends! I'm gonna be gutted when it all returns to normal!

50 pips in a mere few minutes! Crazy! been using 15sec to trade Dax this morning and then change to Dow for the afternoon. Too many set-ups coming thick and fast to bother with any other charts at this timescale!

How to shoot yourself in the foot without really trying...

Well, 40 mins into the session and my day should be over with +3R, instead of 0R, but I will follow my rule of stopping if a trade I ABSOLUTELY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN - plenty of time to take it - had not been missed & was a full winner .

And why did I miss it !? Because I was replying to an email (the shame, the shame...) from my niece asking for a recommendation for a get-away-from-it-all place in Sardinia this June.
