Good Afternoon all the way from South Africa its 4pm :-)

EUR/USD definitely doing well so far so good...

GBP/JPY hoping it break support at 164.80 seems like its trying to break through, hoping it does!

USD/JPY has been good to me too

I really like the approach to trading on this thread. Keep it simple and try to catch a good move. A good idea especially in this kind of market with wild moves every day. Only need to catch a couple of good moves to do well. Short UCAD 1.3950, ECAD 1.5540, stops about 50 pips or so.
Moving UCAD stop to break even and taking another look at ECAD.

I hope so but we got a bullish engulfing candle on the 1HR chart @ 164.00 so not sure if its going to breakout @ 164.00 just yet.

Will have to wait and see....

btw is their an app forex factory?

Update:

I decided to await a H4 close below Support at 1.38698 to go Short USDCAD and still waiting.

The point of this post is to say thanks to Geppy. I have told him privately that this thread is providing "University Grade" Education for me and this is one of the take-aways for me; the art of PATIENCE. Waiting for the market to come to me!

Unfortunately I lost my patience about a few hours before it dropped. Although I did get some profits from my USD/CAD shorts, I think I would have been better off holding.

If I had a dollar for every time I said that, I wouldn't have to trade!

Hey gang,

GBP/JPY is really testing my patience. It's frustrating being 150+ pips in profit and then seeing it wiped away in an hour. I'm sticking with my shorts though and trading my plan.

It feels like this thing is desperately trying to hold on for dear life. If we break the lows from January 19th (~164.00) it's going to be a hard, prolonged drop. Seems like the market is hanging on for dear life, and it feels like it's running out of strength.

How's everyone else feeling? What are you seeing? I imagine some may think we're putting in a bottom, and we could be...

you are doing just fine,
we all now that G/J is one of the hardest pairs/crosses to trade (apart from g/n g/a)

risk-off / risk-on makes PA seem awkward
fundamentals > technicals in these times.

good job!

1,6% (48hr) down than
1,6% (24hr) up

PS: if, maybe, unfortunately, hopefully doesn't exist in traders language (joking)

Thanks, man. Trading is damn hard, especially when you take on pairs like geppy. I think I just needed a little mental pick-me-up and that's what I'm hoping this community also serves as... some emotional support for us swing traders when needed. Because swing trading can have a hard time mentally sticking to a position when the market is whipping around.

I know what you mean, im out of gbpjpy took profit @165.05 all the way from 166.90 thanks for the analysis and heads up mate.

Do you have any rules on posting my own charts here ?

Ugh, I'm with you. I am learning how to effectively swing trade but am wary of leaving trades overnight. I did last night, to see it mostly evaporated this morning, though I placed some contingency stops for a small profit. Still short, and really hoping to trample that 164.000, but I've found hope to be the great account eviscerater...so I'm keeping stops tight and still short, for now.

You must practice having stops in place. I can't stress that enough. It will help you sleep a lot better at night, and once you get used to the open P&L fluctuations you'll soon discover how amazing swing trading can be mentally, for your life style (not having to be trading ALL the time), and for your account balance.
