Guys:
IF u can please report your findings at the end of the week. No matter if win or loss. Also include the major settings and pairs u are running and if demo/live.

Example.
Pairs: GBPUSD, AUDUSD
Settings: Everything default except -
PercentRisk=1.0;
UseAutoTrend=_20MA
(basically just list the only inputs u changed).
Then state the win loss etc etc etc..

Right now the Oanda Live account as fallen once more LOL. yes, I am looking into other avenues as to determine the upperTF. That is the thing the is killing my account plus the strick US requirements of Oanda. I also notices that some trades just hit the stop... so in the next version I may add the spread plus 1 pip. This will no affect the MM in that the percentRisk will still be the same and we are only adding a couple of pips to the overall path that price has to travel....

Hang in there... Just in your mind imagine typing these words: "Remember when you had lost almost 30% of that small Oanda Account?" You know right? Cause as that becomes real that means that there is no more 30% loss but 100% gain LOL Do me the favor please, for all of us.. Tonite or wherever u are just stop and imagine that you are typing that statement in this thread.... that's all and once you see it in your mind, let it go and go about your way..

This is going to be fun and as the Joker said "Here we go...!"

Indicator: ASCTrend-3TF

Does anyone have experience with this indicator? In particular is it susceptible to lagging when price changes direction?
This is an indicator that had been suggested earlier.

Let me know. I plan to add it to the UseAutoTrend pull down options.

Ive been running live since basically the beginning of the EA but my win loss ration was really bad with the 15m so I mostly used the multiEA on the H1 and H4 for EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD, USDCHF, USDCAD, NZDUSD, USDJPY and GBPJPY.

At one point I had a runner on the GBPJPY of 600pips but that turned around and hit the BE.

This week currently I am 4 wins (3 currently runners) and 3 losses. Using default settings except UseAutoTrend=3sema
Last week I was 5 wins (1 currently still a runner about 400pips up on a USDCAD sell) and 7 losses. Using default settings except UseAutoTrend=HeikenAsh_2TF_UP

Of course a win is only 1/4 the dollar amount of a loss. But if that runner ever does hit 1000pips ill be in the profits.

Thnx for the update pp22. But I meant we should do this on Friday at the end of the week. So we can compare notes and see where the better options are in terms of Pairs, options etc. Good thing u tested the Multi version, looks like it is working. Remember it's an experiment I just copy alot of stuff from the 15min version and tweak it to work on the higher TFs.

You know.. If you are constantly seeing 600 returns to BE, I recommend u set your STOP LOSS at say 200 pips below the runner. OR simple close the darn thing at 500 pips!! LOL. Good job and good discipline.

UPDATE on EA/Indicators:

I have added the ASCTrend-Matrix 3TF indicator. You will also need the ASCTrend1i indicator. This indicator is now part of the drop down option for UseAutoTrend (see image below). Again the EA will detect if you are missing any indicators and give u a list and in what directory to place them. I also added the website were u can download the indicators on to the message. As usual all updated indicators and EAs are at http://xm7.info/ea/freebie

I added spread plus 1 pip, I have been seeing alot of good trades get stopped out cause for whatever reason the spread is just enuf to kick it out.

Right now, the ASCTrend-3TF only uses the next upperTF. for the 15min it uses the 4H TF. If u guys want more periods to be used let me know and I'll add it to the code.

Just a reminder, click on the image to get a bigger image. I know there are more options that u have requested tommorrow I will have more time,, I think... I need to do taxes LOL....

Any thoughts on using the forexProfitSupremeMeter to use as an additional verification that may help the UpperTf detection?

I was looking at the code and fixed a couple of things. I think I will also make it more automated for getting the symbol prefix etc. I will have it detect automatically what pairs you have on open charts. Of course it will work in the background and maybe I will add the pair's strength value and position to the it to the info display I plan to add to the EA.

I am using 12.2 and the modification of the stoploss (add spread etc) seems to of done the job. Last nite I had 2 winners, EURUSD was almost a runner.
Today I got the USDCAD going short twice. Got stopped out the first time and now has reentered on another signal. I am satisfied with the way the trades are happening however, There was one GBPUSD long that was not taken, it too would of been a half close winner.

So for now I will let the EA continue and next week I will setup the TradeCopier. You get the idea, right? With the copier the live account will only see trade signals that are generated from the demo account. So in essence I will only have one chart open in the live account and thereby only have to deal with the brokers server for any trade discrepancies. In fact, this is risky, I could just have the copier place the entry signal with no SL or TP. Then the broker krap would not have any affect on the trade. Of course the SL.TP would be hidden. The risk would be that the trade takes a trend in the opposite from your trade.... then u are in trouble, but we can mitigate that by monitoring the balance. If the balance falls below say 15% we can close ALL trades... But again it's a big risk casue if your MT4 shuts down, there is nothing that can close the any bad trades.... well maybe we can place an emergency SL.... something to thing about

I've been running 12.1 since last Friday on my demo and have had more losers than winners, down about 10%. d I'm anxious to try 12.2 and see what happens.
I've had it running on M15 gbpusd, eurusd, audusd, cadusd. If I put more than 4 charts with the ea running, I start getting errors and everything stops.

I'll post a full report on Friday of my findings.

ERRORS for more charts?? How is it that pp22 has all those charts open with no errors? Yes show me the logs... we'll fix it whatever it is.

Here is a real example of the things or trades that are discrepant. They don't agree with the what the indicator is saying nor if you the demo to compare with. The wied thing is that the log shows all the condition are on spot but when u put them on the chart u obviously see which condition is not met.
The image shows one EURUSD trade that should not of happened, as soon as I found out I closed it. In the next version I am going to add a feature that will RECHECK the candle conditions. It will refresh the chart as well. This just may take care of those trades immediately once the EA detects that "HEY U ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO OF OPENED, SHAME SHAME" then ZAPP closed suckaaa.. lol.

Anyhow I am seeing good results with the ASCTrend... I will also add the meter I showed earlier as an aid to flush out trades that we are not interested in.

Update on ASCTrend indicator.

Well I just witnessed it. It does have lag. I saw this morning all GREEN on the EURUSD H4 TF. Then price moved down and I saw it change to RED BUT it changes to read for the last 15 candles (which was blue) and guess what?? There was a sell trade that all of a sudden appeared in the part that turned RED.

So unfortunately there is lag. Now with that said here are some observations.

1. Even though this is the case the Indicator seems to be somewhat stable, once it changes a state it remains in that fashion but there is no guarantee that it will work when price starts to play big tricks and moves etc.

2. I am still seeing the smaller Stop Losses get knocked out. This is especially unfortunate when u see that if you had had a bigger stop loss that you would of easily been in profit with a runner. But instead you have a loss.. So perhaps we should extend the SL ???

3. I am thinking that going to the higher TF is the way to go. The indicators do not fluctuate as much and that gives u time to decide what to do. pp20 is testing this... lets see how the results come out. From what I understand ever since he switch from the 15 min to H1 (using the MultiEA) he seems to be in profit and has had several great runners (600+).

All we need is something that will guide us at the least with a a 50% accuracy into the right direction.

Hi jess, I totally agree with point 2, especially on the EU pair, am running the latest version on 4 pair with the ASCtrend indicator on the 15min tf...have had 3 losses and 1 BE so far today....we definitely need something..LOL!

Have to agree with extending stop losses. I do recall from a few years ago of a discussion that the price movements in any pair is different from any other and that each pair should have its' own stop loss. I have extended EUUSD to 100, and XAUUSD to 1000. Also it seems more often than not that a price will move in one direction and then come back to the original point. Some pairs will do that quicker than others. Where you seem to lose is when the trend changes and then you are stuck, not forever but too long to hold the trade.

When u say trend are you referring to what we are seeing intra day? For my a trend is something that happens over weeks. Look at the 4hr and about and you will see real trends. We can get those little trends the ones that are in the consolidation area, small pips are crazt. Or if u can wait a month get 2000 pips.. .

I am curious to see how pp20 is doing. He/she is using the multi version on a live account. Last he posted he was doing alot better than me at the 15min TF.

In a short while I will extend the stop to 1.5. I am also going to recommend that you set the Daily average. Less trades will be taken this is control somewhat the trade flow since the SL will be larger.

Inway. Please see the image below. This shows 3 live trades on EURUSD (Oanda). Let me know your thoughts. GUYS we are so close,, I can smell the positive PIPS!! LOL

Hey Jess,

So I had 4 pairs running my template with v12.1 EA for a week. Yesterday I added 4 more pairs. It ran overnight, did several trades. Then this morning, the last to charts started displaying the section about "You are missing files .....".

I switched between several charts to see if they were all getting that message, but only 2 of them were getting it. Then, shortly there after I got the "blue screen of death".

After I restarted I checked my terminal log files and mql4 logs and did not see any errors.

It seems like I'm running out of memory?

Ok, I am going to do the exact same thing and put the EA on a bunch of pairs. Then I will look at the task bar to see if the terminal.exe app is getting bloated.
The missing files baffles me since, u have them already. Since u say "blue screen of death" that probably means u are running under windows (vs mac or linux). So next question are u running windows under a virtual program?

It came to me lastnite either before I fell asleep or just as I woke during the nite. The 20MA.... simple little average taking calculation that may just give us an answer to the upper TF trend detection. You say "Yea it doesn't repaint and it's simple, but what about when price is retracing???". EASY...

Here's the idea:
1. Use the EA only as a starting point. That is, if Day open-small buffer>EMA then EA says trend up. if Day open+small buffer<EMA then EA says trend down
2. that little buffer can be like 5 pips, i can aide in protecting the decision when price is just bouncing around the EMA
3. Now if in the same day the EA detects that price when the opposite (above/below the daily open=/- small buffer) then EA changes trend and we trade different on the lower TF

Simple no? It follows an interesting concept. What is from above is from above and what is from below is from below. In this case what is above the daily open-buffer is an uptrend and we take longs on the lower TF... and what is below the daily open-buffer is a down trend and we take short trades on the lower TF. The same can be said for the Daily open+buffer.

Of course there will be instances were price just bounces between the ema but the buffer may help us avoid those instances. When I get the chance I Will illustrate what I mean with a chart.

I am going to program this into the _20ma in the next version.... coming up... For now I have changed my UseAutoTrend to _20ma

Hi Jess, I am trading live (FXCM) with small account..it's been a mixed bag really....made a few manual trades on the news so am slightly up at the mo..but would like to eradicate all manual trades once we nail this ea..:-) the _20ma sounds very promising..am following you closely buddy...keep up the good work, much appreciated!
