No-it was Dax -it trends but watching a one minute price bar flicking alternately green to red a number of times. before settling positive or negative, can be trying on the nerves with the one minute time frame. But - Five minute oil - I cope by setting my stop and reading a book and glancing now and again at screen or making some tea or researching. Once I move stop up into a free trade one can relax more.
So, I should set a stop for the one minute Dax and keep to it, but something about that one minute candle, flickering up or down, despite my 8 ma etc governing the trade, triggers my fear emotions thus tempting me to interfere with a live trade. But one soldiers on
Interestingly, I marked up several Dax trades live on the one minute Dax - two worked and one was break even. Sadly, I bottled out of trading them -emotional paralysis again.
One could say, "forget the dax and stick to oil," but I like a challenge, and research is good for future use.

03-45 here. I just got in. I agree with the more money in the bank. But all of my life I have been brought up using stats whether militarily, playing sport etc . Some information we use sub consciously ,. Earlier I mentioned the weekend gap closing, we don't need stats as we know it has a big chance of closing.

Me tough!!! lol. I am a big softy really. If you scalp you could do it as a pass time or if it interests you study it. I am always looking at new trading methods I look at it like a hobby... I think with scalping though you need to look at a bigger global picture.

I think it was just a general request. I used to trade E/J looking for 20 (not 5) on the daily and it has excellent stats too. I was even compounding this.

This is difficult to answer and welcome.
If a trade breaks high/low and does not make 10 this is a fail for the stats. Last year E/J had something like 87% strike rate (I cannot remember actual figure and my Pc is closed down) So going off what I just said if it was 87% win I would therefore have 13% trades to correct. Correcting trades is not as easy as it seems,

All early days L.O.L. will see how this week pans out, could be interesting.. MAYBE I will only set EA for sleep time and turn off when day trading I seem to remember this was the idea in the first place .

Ok I see and understand. Thanks for the info.

Reason I ask, because I'd been looking into something similar when I found this thread. The idea of wick zones (you can see charts/strategy on the wick zone thread at kreslik forum, not sure I'm allowed to post a direct link on FF).. The idea is to trade the breaks of wick zones (candle open/close to candle high/low)..

However, my basic testing of the above idea doesn't really come up with any worthwhile stats.. but, maybe combined as a counter/corrective idea to a daily break, it may work out.

I'm going to try run a few tests, if I find anything worthwhile I'll post it..

These advisor things really need to be run on virtual servers.

If your pc goes to sleep the ea goes the same way so sort of defeats the point of it all.

Brilliant!! Love the 60's music from the UK don't know why. Music's far more interesting than trading. I was working in London early eighties and hated it - this looks so much more fun. Dread to think what it's like now.

I just took a look. It can be done as you know plus it can easily be a scam. I think if it were a scam they would of shown better figures.

Hi Leeshindig, I took a look but couldn't actually see the method. thankyou

edit, Something I looked at in the past. Instead of using Daily high/low as trigger , trade off the open/close OR the high/low it depends which is hit first. IT is difficult to explain but I could show a chart.
