As there is no interest in this forum, I am afraid I will keep the post on hold until sufficient learners show interest.

In any case, I have provided a free options trading course for which online educators charge up to US$10,000 per person by holding a seminar, using motivational speakers, copywriters who use subliminal advertising (illegal) in the garb of hypnotic writing (legal) for a fee of US$30,000 per campaign.

A major problem with Currency Future Options trading is that CME doesn't allow free data feed for non-professional investors for more than 14 days. So the futures brokers will offer only a paper trading account with live data feed for 14 days. This period will be good enough for you to practice Spreads. Spread is a combination of buying and selling of options and as per the directionless strategy of Dr Naga you have to trade a spread three legs of calls and three legs of puts.

You can use any futures broker of your choice as long as the brokerage fees I have mentioned in my posts comes close to those. You have a choice of becoming an online trader or going with an offline broker.

I am not in favour of OTC currency options because you really can't make money because of their high ask/bid spreads and liquidity.

Saxo Bank offers a free demo but they have very basic execution facility inappropriate for executing any kind of spread. You will not learn anything from their platform.

As mentioned earlier in Post 8 Metratrader has developed a currency options trading platform for which there are no takers. A dealing platform developer, ORE is offering free MT4 options demo and a web-platform. But it will not help you much anyway.

I think you don't need any more information than provided here. It is time now to act and use the EurUsd strategy only. I also use just one pair one strategy from the book.

My PM and ability to post on other threads have been blocked. In view of such restrictions imposed on me , I don't wish to continue this thread. Nor I am interested in approaching FF in getting those restrictions removed as I simply don't have any commercial agenda.

I have not traded much in options for directional strategies and wanted to develop strategies in collaboration with spot fx traders and coders.

On FF a number of coders and algo writers have put out brilliant solutions based on the ideas floated by dream merchants, wannabe quants and traders (very few real traders) and exiting with a lot of frustration. Had they been guided by a real trader who understands both trading and coding processe, they would have produced wonderful indicators.

Coders also have to blame themselves partly for not showing patience. Majority of coders have inflated views about their algo writing skills and the ability to hit lotteries without ever realizing that trading is a very serious but lucrative business which can really get them economic freedom.

Smart ones have used FF as a showcase of their work in order to get hired but finding paying customers is a tough job. They have stuck to FF on faint hopes of getting some good business and from time to time, they take out their frustration on FF members when they find it is not happening.

Some of the coders and wannabe entrepreneurs start with a lot of fantasies about indicators and start their own selling operations without having no idea about how costly it is to run a sales campaign on the web or the economics of running a web-based business. Smart ones have survived by becoming collectors of emails and renting out them to list brokers. The list brokers in turn pass these potential leads to sharks who use highly-paid motivational speakers and copywriters to peddle hypnotic messages and pry upon the gullible and the greedy.

If the coders with financial education university master degree exercise patience to learn strategies, practice paper trading and then code (altogether for a period of 2-3 years) they would be ideal $80,000 + salaried candidates jobs with for hedging firms.

Instead of using forums for education, finding real traders as mentors, these avenues have been treated as outlets for undertaking ego trips, social chit chat, stealing ideas to code indicators and attempting to sell on the web without ever realizing how tough it is to sell anything on the web, and in the process lose confidence in their own abilities to code or trade or work in any job. I feel sorry for those who have lost faith in having a meaningful life chasing fantasies.

It is only in recent two years, a bunch of serious coders and serious traders have joined hands to produce excellent quality of dashboards. Some of the dashboard threads are purely surviving because of serious traders sidelining those indulging in one upmanships.

My 2 cents for them:

Patience, learning and trading (real or dummy) have to go together if anyone wants to be a productive coder or a trader or both. A trader who has good amount of money resources will benefit by building wealth. A coder with meagre money resources will ultimately be rewarded career-wise if he follows the same route.

Directional Strategies for Fx option traders

In terms of directional strategies , currency options provide unparalleled risk-control help and rids a trader of fear factor as long as the trader has a tolerance for losing upfront one-time stop loss amount.

Fx option equips an investor with an ability to take on numerous hits and ride out fake-outs and make money without worrying about stop-loss. As long as the direction chosen favours the investor and works in time before the options start decaying rapidly. Fast decaying of options, which normally happens in the 30 days closer to the expiry of strike price will decide the fate of option buyers and sellers depending on the strategy they have employed.

A buyer should get out before 30 days if the direction is against him. A seller benefits immensly from decaying of options during the last 30 days. A seller should as well get out before 30 days if the direction does not suit him.

Hi Optionhk,

This is a very valuable thread and it is pitty to stop here. I think the main reason people on FF do not respond is because people can not find this thread. Just have to keep posting and make it as popular as possible. I am sure people will like it and follow it if it has enough exposure on FF. I subscribe this thread. Appreciate all the efforts you made here.
