Tschim, I don't know if "classic" windows applications can run on windows mobile, as I never had a windows mobile phone.
But, what you can do and that I used a lot, is set up a VPS (Virtual private server) where you run your windows application and access it with your mobile device (works fine with android too) through VNC (it's a program that will show you the screen of your VPS, you're basically working on the server by taking control of it remotely).

You can use a windows VPS, or even a LINUX VPS, which is really cheap, and MT4 can be run on linux, works quite fine (I used it a lot)
The advantage is that you can use it to run EAs too.

It's a little technical, but if you want help to set this up, just send me a private message.

Hi R19,

I'm am not aware of any other programs other than myFxBook that imports using OANDA data. To be frank, I've never used that software. Perhaps another trader could chime in.

Good luck!

{quote} Hi Greg I have an important question: On the 1.01.2015, the dayly spike/range, for USDCHF was a wopping 2787 pips..... (I was luckily not invested in any CHF crosses) BUT: from what I read , stops were only "honoured", AFTER the big plunge, with a massive slippage, causing mutiple margin calls. If this is so, I am, like everyone else, exposed to such an event , sooner or later.... Meaning, being profitable as I am, I could build up my account to a nice level, with hours and years of work, only to see it dissapear in an afternoon???...

Hi cuchuflito,

The one thing that everyone tends to look for is absolute security while trading. Unfortunately risk is an inherent part of trading FX and any instrument or market. There is no guarantee that you will not lose your funds trading. That is as blunt and as frank as I can be. The fact that you can make a lot of money opens to the reality that you can lose a lot of money trading, which is simply the nature of the beast - so to say.

No matter how regulated or safe a broker might be, market conditions can always be less than ideal trading conditions, so it's always important to understand this when trading. This is why disclaimers are always a part of any broker or trading related communication (or should be!)

With the SNB event, margins were raised for specific currencies as the increased volatility has increased risk. http://www.nfa.futures.org/news/news...ArticleID=4534

Time based risk is something to think about, meaning that the longer one holds on to a trade, the higher the event risk is, as there are more variables that come into play, though risk is also inherent in short term trading as well.

Be careful, understand the risks, and enjoy the weekend!

Cheers,

One thing that I find unusual is that oandas oil prices bear no resemblance to the real world prices, and the general movement neither bears any resemblance.
If you're only trading their market then I suppose it doesn't matter a great deal, however if you use fundamentals you'll probably end up on the back end of a good hiding
Where price is now, it has been before, and will be again.

Hi Jenx,

Because we don't require a client to close out of a position come expiration, the price of the CFD is always going to be a blend of the current and front month. This will cause the future and CFD price to sometimes be different, but the volatility is the same.

If you compare a future chart (current contract month is FEB '16) to the CFD chart, you will see that they track pretty well.

I took a screenshot to illustrate this for you. The CL chart is directly from the CME.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Cheers,

That explains the pricing. Why not just offer a spot market?Youre not likely to attract the oil whales with the interest you charge for the carry.

Unreliable broker . News trading cant be done , scalping cant be done , wide spreads during volatility and news , sluggish execution during volatility , slippage , platform hangups during volatility .. etc . So whats the point exactly ? This broker is best suited for grid trading at size 1 or 10 units but thats it . Customer support is not there , unprofessional to say the least .

OANDA was one of the best FX brokers out there a few years ago, its really a shame how their services have deteriorated. It all started when Michael Stumm left as CEO in 2012 and unfortunately, it seems to me that they will never be the same again.

I'm still trading with them, mostly because they have been my broker for 8 years, but am testing out other brokers at the moment. I think I will switch to another one this year.

Hi everybody,

I'm planning to open an account with OANDA. I am a permanent resident of Canada but am told they might reject me because of my Iranian citizenship. I guess they are worried about "money laundering" or things like that; do you have any suggestion to solve this?

Yes. Their platforms and website are all down.

Best not to use Oanda, they are extremely unreliable these days.

last night i chatted with a representative from fxcm when i mentioned oanda, he kept on mentioning that oanda is a very small company and not reputable. haha i understand that he's always going to back fxcm. however, to all oanda live customers out there, have you faced any notable problems like difficulties in withdrawing fund etc... appreciate if anyone can share their opinions here

I know one thing FXCM freezes the platform with minimal volatily in the market. I heard Oanda does it too but I do not know the depth meaning besides news. maybe someone can comment on this matter.

Do you know a broker that doesn't freeze mt4 platform? Does Oanda freezes at minimal volatility? If so, why is no one complaining?

Hi there:

i am from Toronto. Two years ago, I opened a live account in response to a promotion by Oanda Toronto, where a bonus amount in addition to my capital was deposited to my account. The account was activated immediately and was allowed to trade. I was afterwards required to submit many papers and this made me frustrated. I decided to withdraw my funds.

Late last year, I contacted them and submit my application, but this time after a few days my application was denied. May I know why I was denied? May I know if I can activate the previous account that was opened for me 2 years back.
