And how is it with demo accounts? For now I have a USD demo, and there is different spread on marketw/chart. Is demo acc with EUR correct?

Yes, you can convert your existing USD account into an EUR account. Please email your request to [email protected] and our Operations department will follow up with you regarding that.

I don't have an exact ETA on when the charts on our USD MT4 servers (live and demo) will be updated but am hopeful it will be soon. I will keep you all posted. In the meantime, you can see updated MT4 charts by registering for an EUR-denominated MT4 demo account on this page: http://bit.ly/1KHmsZ1

I hope the spread for USD mt4 servers gets corrected soon! Looking forward to it. -Jason
Update to Trading Station Desktop

Just a quick heads up: a new version of Trading Station Desktop is now available.

That means the next time you log into the platform after this weekend, it will automatically update you to the latest version. If don't want to wait, then you can install the new version now: http://bit.ly/1O20wZ1

It was first released on 21 December 2015, so if you installed the platform after that date, then you already have the latest version.

New features include:

  1. Stop-Limit and Trailing Stop-Limit orders
  2. Multiple Marketscope charting windows
  3. Ability to save multiple logins

I want to start using MT4 as a trading platform as well as an analysis tool so everything is in one place - makes life easier for day trading. I am attracted by the FXCM low spreads on their nice tax efficient spread bet account. For me it is probably just for DAX trading but maybe more of things go well. Whats the general wisdom for firstly getting orders accepted by the FXCM servers and secondly a decent response time without massive slippage. Is it worth using MT4 for execution or is it better to stick to the FXCM proprietary platform for orders? I have used FXCM before and am well aware of the historical issues so need to carry out appropriate due diligence.

Views please.

Why aren't charts auto saved upon closing anymore? Why does simply opening Marketscope always open the default layout now rather than the last used? The platform is irritating to use since this update.

Just to let you know, I encountered an error regarding spreads displayed by trading station desktop and mobile.
Didn't have time to crunch it down, yet I was trading 20k in EURCAD and P/L stood at $1.2 difference. That's odd (tough it's the first time I see it). Put the heat on your IT guys cause now there are 3 type of spreads fxcm operates with (for an ECN, right?, between mt4, trade station desktop and mobile).

Got it:

In trade station mobile Net P/L is displayed incorrectly.

For 20k in EURCAD, my gross pl was 7.45 (after com 2.4) net pl was 5.05 (on trade station desktop).

On the mobile platform, net pl was 5.3
Scalping mobile version can turn even trades into losses.
P.s. During the trade there was a $1.2 difference. I know that it may sound incoherent - yet it is what it is.

therefore, tradestation mobile doesn't calculate both commissions, which is inconvenient to me (it was fine before, plus that's the same platform and presumably data feed).

I suggest you try doing a full uninstall and reinstall as RichFXTrades advised. Trading Station will give you the option of saving your previous settings when uninstalling.

Hi Mlacoco,

I couldn't replicate the error you described. My chart configurations are still saving for me when I exit the platform. Before closing Trading Station, save your chart setup as a layout file, and see if that solves the problem for you. Go to "Layouts" > "Save Layout As" and then name your layout file. If that layout doesn't automatically load when you re-open the platform, go to "Layouts" > "Open Layout" and open the layout file you saved.

Not so much an error, just an annoying behavior. I've been using the platform for years, and the behavior is definitely different.

Yes, I've saved a layout, didn't have a choice. If a layout isn't created and saved, nothing is retained at all after closing marketscope. Opening marketscope either with ctrl-M or charts > New Marketscope (which used to just be *open* marketscope) loads the default layout. I can open the layout file fine, but didn't need to in previous version, it simply loaded when I opened marketscope. Now I have to open the layout, which opens in another window (also annoying). Any changes have to be saved manually to retain them - even just drawing a line on the chart. "Do you want to save changes to layout ___?" Of course I do, and the previous version just did it without asking. None of this makes the software unusable or impairs functionality, it's just irritating, and there doesn't seem to be any benefit or purpose behind it.

I performed a clean install several times because I thought there's no way this behavior was intentional, but the only way to avoid it is to copy the previous versions files from an old backup to the install directory.
Hi, I would like to know will the spread/commission be charged higher during high volatile times (like OANDA). Is there anywhere I can check real-time/past history of the spreads+commission? Well noted about charging 4USD per Lot.
