Again be wary on the time of day and if you get a proper set-up (in this case SOW) get protected quickly. That appears to be a good zone to watch come LO tomorrow for sure.

I would advise caution. Firstly, the time of day is not that good because activity has dried up. Secondly and more importantly, you are trading into potential support from the UHV candle formed a few days ago during the FOMC announcment.

Good eye. Nice shared level with the 50% of that extra UHV, WRB zone and the low of today's zone. If we get a push below and then come back to this level around LO it would offer a lovely short.

Also the low of today's zone (around 0.72307) has yet to be taken out and tested successfully and we are now back inside today's zone. Even on a 15 minute chart we closed below but on the very next bar we closed back into the low.

Edit - AUDUSD 0.7230 is the hinge point right now. Bulls need to hold above, bears need to break and then hold below. Those UHV, UWRB's (caused nearly always by some sort of news) need to always be kept in the back of our minds (and preferably on the chart) as they are background information for us and the levels almost always play a factor when we return to them. Volume at volume. SM tend to be active where they were active before. That is our roadmap.

My current trade plan is based fully around trading today's zone during tomoroows action, however UHV, WRB created by high impact news stay on my charts (these are currently the only old zones I keep on for anyone who has followed my previous postings). I make them a different color and usually dotted lines so I can differentiate between them and my "current" trade zone.

I use yellow for the zone from yesterday that I am watching, white for today's zone when it becomes active after we've moved away from yesterday's zone and gray dotted for currently watched news zones.

We always want to see some sort of move away from a zone before coming back to test and then look for an entry.

At this point it's best to wait for tomorrow at LO and see where we are with respect to today's zones and find the ones that look the most tradable and look for your trade plan set-ups.

As I've said before when just starting on VZA focus on the trading the edges after a clear break (which we've not seen yet). Also look for entries around market opens.

After that is mastered then you can get more aggressive and trade within the zones etc...

EURUSD

I will be very interested to see where the day closes as currently we are sitting below the low of today's zone. Looks like we could (this is mere speculation until LO tomorrow) be in for a sellers day tomorrow.

We will see how the day closes and where we are come LO.

Interesting day. Daily bar looking very ND'ish... This makes sense for me with seeing the highest hourly volume right at the high of the day and the fact that we are currently below that zone...

I was sure we were headed back to 1.1 today... We stopped dead in the tracks at 1.0984. WTF I asked myself?

Well perhaps it was because of 1.0980 high from that crazier than crazy spread UHV Daily bar from Dec 3rd (purple level)... Now why did I take that zone off my chart? Please someone remind me?

As I type this we are back floating around that good old 1.095 level...

​I use ONLY NY close charts. I think that makes them GMT+2... They are 6 hours off my local time and I am in GMT-4 (it's 6:42AM here now and 12:42 on my charts)...

Check out that chart. We closed below yesterday's zone which was close to the days low (at the bottom of the market action)... LO we are above the H so we now are thinking longs. Market opens and the first hour is nothing more than a fake out mark down right into 50% of yesterday's zone... A small phase of ACC and up we go.

Picture perfect in my books.

GBP futures chart, which has real volume, shows the same. Just that, as transactions are relatively sparse due to the coming holiday, I dare not take a trade.

EURUSD was down away from yesterday's zone at LO so I waited for LO to close and fibbed that bar as it was and still is the highest volume bar of the day...

We are sitting range bound at the moment within the zone. Based on the current PA and volume I suspect we will see a break to the downside. Either way as of now on this pair I am sitting on the sidelines.

I have no doubts of the similarities of the futures and FX charts. I've spent enough time doing side by side comparisons to feel 100% confident trading forex using tick volume. ECN brokers with deep liquidity pools have almost identical volume spikes as the futures charts. Are there differences, of course but not enough to affect my trading (this response was not directed at you personally, just a general comment about the subject of tick versus "real" volume).

EURUSD

Short at 1.0917. Reason... Find the 15 min within the hourly from today's zone... SL 1.0923 (50% of the 15min zone and there was a nice exchange at that level already).
