That's because you haven't set the time at which the EA must execute Sell/Sell. You need to set a time in the future when you are willing the EA execute an action (for example, Sell/Sell) and then changing the input variable "Auto Trade Disabled".

I've been playing with the method, just to get the grip of it.

Ok, I have not been particularly entering trades precisely at times right before the news, but I did enter when there was some volatility as to have some movement and test the method.

I've had 5 winning / 3 losing combinations, for a combined Loss of Around US$10, considering spread and commissions

I don't understand how this is supposed to make money, if this is always depending if you enter the "good" or the "bad" side of a symbols movement.

How is having two trades supposed to cover the higher trading costs in the long run?
Someone please explain the underlying concept of the method.

Hi acostafulano,

I have already mentioned my strategy in previous posts, but I collect them here and later put them in Post 1.

How do I trade with this strategy:
1. Choose a high impact red news of a major currency, for example AUD.
2. Choose two other major currencies to pair with AUD such that the absolute correlation of two pairs is greater than 0.5, for example AUDUSD and AUDCAD.
3. A few minutes before the news release time, look at a currency strength meter to observe which of above two currencies (USD or CAD) is more powerful.
4. Select a trade button according to both the sign of correlation (this can be automatically done by the EA for you), and the strongest currency you identified in the previous step.

Note: There is no holy grail strategy that makes green pips all the time. Above steps are my own strategy to trade with this EA.

Hedge move indicator shows the relative moves (in points) of two pairs starting from the open price of the day. If two pairs are, for example, highly and positively correlated, then a trade signal could be when they start diverging from each other for more than some amount of points.

Thank you for the explanation.

If the indicator shows the number of movement points of a pair, if we are directional bias... say news is expected to positively affect a pair. So doesn't it imply that we should buy the pair that moves with more points and sell the pair with less point as a hedge?
