West Coast USA here. I've found the best most active trading times for me is 2 hours before until 2 hours after LO ... 2 hours before and up to NY close and depending on activity 1 hour before Sydney.

With you being in NZ you can see a "Dead Zone" between NY close and Sydney open.

I am living in China. I am only be able to trade around NY open. I've found 1hour before NY open till 30 min after NY open, 30 min before Euro Close till 1 hour after Euro Close is quite good.

But from 30min after NY open to 2.5 hours after NY open could be very mess due to high impact news. sometimes it is trending well, sometimes it is side away, sometimes is very volatile in both up and down side.

when you said "2 hours before up to NY close", do you mean 6 hours after NY open till NY close, right? What is your experience with NY open?

Hi Fellow "CliveSystem" traders,

I have been trading this system for a while. one big issue for me is win ration. I target 1:2 risk reward ration. SL around 10 pips, TP around 20pips. My win ration is just around 30% (excluding BE trades, 40% order would be fall into this category). So I am still not making consistent profit yet.

If it is not too much trouble, can I request fellow traders share some statistics a bit more to encourage struggling traders like me?

2 hours before the open of both London and New York.. but you have to watch closely as both opens will , the majority of times, reverse directions ( the Big Players are setting their positions for the market opening).

Also, if your spread for E/U is 1 or less, it can be traded almost 24 hours, as those 2 currencies are the most widely traded currencies. Scalping E/U even during the "Dead Zone" can be done in the 1 minute timeframe... 3 - 4 pip SL with TP between 5 - 7 but you must be glued to your monitor.

Hi MT thanks a bunch for your info and mail (a kindness not a liberty) have sent a PM response, not about Clives' or generic stuff so not cluttering up space here with it :-). Your preferred 4 hour window gives me a bit more scope than doing the NYO nightshift, had enough of that as a mainframe computer operator back in the 80's lol, so thanks for your perspective.

That is because I put the the 2 goldenrod colors to none. But I use the default settings.

How many trades are you talking about. I generally only go for 1:1 if going with the trend. I get a steady 62% win rate. I go for 1:2 or better only with counter trend trades.

Hi all.

I am normally a very naked chart trader. But this has me very intrigued. When I get home tonight from my day job, will start downloading and setting up charts.

I have been wanting to develop a scalping system to use in-between some of the bigger moves I tend to look for.
