Dislikedwhat a farce the presidential election in the US is. It begs the question: do the people of the USA get what they deserve? Hey, get on your lazy feet and get back the spirit of your founding fathers........ Disliked{quote} Russia made a bad mistake - the SU is a bomber - why did they sent a bomber without fighter protection into warzone? That is not the way it should be done properly. Would the SU have been acompanied by two fighter jets, the Turks would have not dared to down the SUIgnored

Disliked{quote} Agree, that is common sense to do, however the reason why they probably didnt send fighters with it is becouse theoretically those bombers dont really have threat that could take them down. There is no actual enemy fighter jets for them in air (unless they backstab like Turkey did), so thats probably why they dont use follow-ups.Ignored
Disliked{quote} SU-24 was not covered because of: 1/ nobody was awaiting for friendly fire; 2/ The absolute limit of the SU-24 fly height is 6000 meters - so no MANPADS can hit it at this heigh. now we have no friends out here anymore. S-400 is about to be deployed soon - http://russia-insider.com/en/politic...turkey/ri11438 Read on the subject as well Turkey Has Destroyed Russia’s Hope Of Western Cooperation — Paul Craig Roberts http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2015...craig-roberts/...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Exactly that was my point. There was no need to use backups of fighter jets, becouse only threat was backstabbing. Why is S-400 being deployed i am not sure. It looks very wierd, the only logical reason i can find is that they are deploying it to scare any proxy country such as Turkey to consider shooting down any plane again, couse S-400 would get their plane in retaliation for sure. Would make no sense to put it as offensive weapon becouse there is nothin to shoot at, unless you plan to go full scale war with NATO ofcourse.Ignored
Disliked{quote} It is being said the first reason is to cover the air of Syria fully in order for the Turkish Air Force to know what if they "accidentally" cross the Air Space of Syria over, they may be shot down, the second reason is to cover the bases in Latakia and Khmeimim. Today and For now, I hardly belive in the full scale war with NATO. Best, D.P.Ignored

Disliked{quote} the Turks gave some picture of the tracing of the SU. On that picture one can see, that the SU may have overflown a very small part of Turkey. Funny is: the SU would have had only a few seconds in Turkey airspace, but the Turks insist, that they warned the SU repeatedly over 10 minutes or so.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Ye full scale war is still low possibility. However lets not follow the current events to see what might happen in future, wars have never been predictable in that fashion becouse railing events can happen very quickly to escalate dangerous situation into full scale event. To see what might happen in future, let me ask you this: In order for current conflict to switch the gear one thing has to happen, which is non of the main forces of either side to give up. Lets group Iran - Russia in first one, and US, NATO and proxy countries in second....Ignored
Disliked{quote} As to your theses, I have nothing to add. Logically. As to your questions, I must say that I have had the same thoughts about "Afgan scenario" today. It is really possible. Nowever do not forget that we was not invited in Afgan, it was the only international help. Yes, the scenario is alike, but consequenses might be different. So, the only thing we can do is to seat on our chairs, fasten our belts and watch how the world is changing. Best D.P. P.S. Disliked{quote} Wondering why keeping S-500 in warehouses though. If you got war going on makes more sense to deploy your best toys to cut the loses.Ignored
