I am not as good as MissPips at coding here is the one I wrote for one of my friend here in FF. Hope this will help to your old eyes.

1-You need to give specific name for each time you load on chart if you will have more than 1 level by entering what ever you want to Trend Name at settings
2-You need to enter date, hour, minutes and level for start point.
3-If you want it to stop at certain point than you should choose Trend End Method as Specific Date instead of default present bar.
4-You can play with level on chart settings to show them or not.
5-If you want to see trend name on chart you can adjust it to show or not.
6-If you want to see start or end points with vertical line you can switch it on off. End point vertical lines works on specific date options only.
7-Levels and Labels can be adjusted as backround object if you don't want them in front of bars or vice versa.
8-Color,LineWidth and type also adjustable from settings.

You're welcome! Thanks, I fixed the post. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way around this one yet, except to draw the fib without the MT tool, which I don't like.

(Rocky is just being his usual nice self. He's actually a better programmer than I am.)

Eyes on US reports. Expecting inline Consumer Confidence and slightly less than forecast for GDP. Gold and Oil with a perfectly time 'risk off' short term leg until US wakes up (via Turkey) but today(from yesterday) in the menu we have Euro and S&P. Overshoots just open trailing across the board...

Euro 1.064x unlocks 1.083x with extension 1.097x before ECB. While S&P 2061.xx unlocks 1985.xx for the RMT plays next month.

Not much to do here until reports. Same levels, same trades, same all...

A little confused. I was understanding that the .0690 was the level in play now FA/TA which would unlock .054x area. We have made a lower low (.059x) and stayed below .0690 for Weekly close (last week) and yesterday as well. With the slightly BETTER than expected US GDP wouldn't the levels in play be the .0540 and then for a retrace back to .083x and .097x?

Where does .0640 come into play now? Thanks

The way I see it/understand it: the W close under 1.069x was indicating the price is gonna breach 1.061 intraday - that happened (even tgough not strongly) and yesterday close for me closed the downside - 1.0540 too far away. 1.064x holding means we get some sorf of the short term swing up (to sisses lvls) before the nuclear bombs in DEC

Thanks for your insight into this as I value and respect your commentary and questions as well. I had a Daily close(yesterday) around 1.0635ish; however, we made a LL of .059x. Why does a .0640 close make you feel the downside is closed for now? Just curious. I was looking at the fact we closed below .0690 with better than expected US data that this would re-iterate and confirm RATE hike is in-line for DEC which would drop EU further. It did not and now this .0640 level emerges into the equation. I am trying to see where this level gets more respect after a LL was made and we closed under .0690.

I was playing this down to .0540; then, a retrace back up before next months ECB and FED. Thanks and appreciate your thoughts!

It all absolutely legitimate questions

I have yesterday close at 1.0642ish (so I get the 1.064 from previous D close) and the only reason why I think the downside is closed is: the D (monday) candle is pretty much looking as hammer + if I take into acount the significance of the 1.061x lvl (based on conv with Sisse) - It was not probable to get daily closes below. Therefore: there may definitely be another quick dip closer to 1.054 and back to form another hammer but you know - saying its closed (at least in my case) means I see in as the least probable scenarion and so if we expect the retrace the 1.064 point may be good for reference of bullish bias.

In any case - Sisse may have totally dif logic behind the lvls so well see. Im not so experienced in tracing intraday/short-short term moves.

And the FED - it seems to me that the US data coming in recent days are not so important (until next week NFP) - there would have to be some huge deviations from expectations (in more of the numbers) to have some implications for the FED and on E/U through usd.

Inline GDP, slightly miss (with the revision) in Consumer confidence ...end result more or less the same as expected ... Eyes on 1.064x for the european close...

My last comment (1.064x) is/was for the news flow play as I usually post before main weekly mover and shakers ...don't get confuse with short and mid term swings play which in the case of most markets was yesterday ...

Well now we can discuss in a bit more detail...

--> First there is nothing fundamental in play until DEC. So same FA and TA, same map same plays, same all.
--> Now for this week moves we have a short week because of the US holiday. The only mover and shaker for this week and pre DEC came from today's reports.

Now with that in mind. You are mixing up 3 different tradable plays.

  1. The major play is the mid term swing to parity and below ...
  2. The short term swing is the ECB / NFP play that is either a deeper retrace to the 1.09xx handle or a clean sweep in weeklies to 1.02xx handle ....
  3. Finally the intraday play for the news and this week leg. As discussed earlier in the thread was/is to fade the 1.061x (with max ext 1.054x/6x) for a play on the retrace till DEC.

Yesterday dollar gave the early alerts across the board (check back post) to load. Today 1.064x was just the reference point for the news flow and roll today ...it was /is a minor level for the current flow .... thats it ...

Don't forget that if you want to fade the end of a swing leg with the the trend is not the same as fading a retrace/pullback leg. The latter is easier to trade and with limited risk while the other you need to be super sharp, increase your risk and accept the odds of success will plummet ...

I wont recommend you to focus trading those legs if you are not very clear on the flow, timing and risk as you will get hammered more often than not going against the market....

Especially when we have MAJOR movers and shakers across the board in just a few days ...better use the intraday move (if you are not already in) to gauge the flow and get in synch with the market before next week. However, If you are already in, there is nowhere to hide and nothing to wait right now with 1.064x as only level to track for the roll...

Thanks so much for your information but ESPECIALLY your patience!!!!! Your information is probably repeated over and over; and I am sure drains you! But, know it is greatly appreciated. I am just trying to understand your levels and how you see "market flow". Still not clear on that or how you saw market flow at .0640 during news. I had a candle close around 8:30am US time at news around .0650. I believe don't understand how .0640 became the number to exactly watch. However, we have many closes about .0640 and your explanation of combining 3 trades into 1 was correct. I was combining them together!I am playing intraday move now! Thanks for breaking this down for me!!!! It helped so much!

I am LONG at .0635 and have been since early today. I took this position based on your earlier post. I would have taken a better position but I was looking at PA to take the Euro lower to the .0540 before FADING AGAINST THE TREND which was informative on your explanation on that topic! Thanks!

I still don't understand why .0730 isn't a level on the way to .0830/40 if price goes this far. But, I believe my LONG is good for now or at least at BE.

Just waiting for this monthly candle to close really and using the following month as the trigger reference off 98.40 on DXY and 1.073 on the pair.

Best case for the ideal scenario to develop would still entail policy action on both sides, but milder than anticipated on at least one front. If they both put the hammer down we may not even reach those levels for fading depending on time.

On the other hand the bar for breaking them back (let's say for the yearly close.) is set extremely high. I can't see the FED not hiking now and I can't see the ECB not following through on at least one side (QE if not slash.) and even a monthly close at these levels would technically lock them down.

Otherwise, with the path of least resistance well and truly defined it's been smooth going for day trading with every single bit of micro resistance sticking. Chopping around 1.067 with 1.070 another place to look out for some short term plays. A bit of of selloff in DAX at 1110
