I think trading commodities is more secure than trading forex,
because no black swan as in forex that can wipe out all balance = zero balance , even got negative balance
what do you think ?
paid for waiting , a zero sum game, keep dancing till the end

{quote} On a general basis that appears to be true. However the real problem is to find a mentor who knows how to teach as well as knowing what they are talking about. There are some philanthropic wealthy people who have 'enough' and are prepared to share their knowledge. The first question to ask a fee-charging potential mentor is "show me evidence of the pile you have made from trading".

Trading in commodities secure ? I suggest do some homework about the percentage moves in Gold and compare.
You dont need a "black swan" event to wipe out your balance and go negative.

Ho ho ho depends on your leverage, sell gold at $500 per pip and you can see how to wipe out an account in no time yet gold has only fallen $0.50.

You do have the benefit that you can trade from the daily and still have enough setup opportunities due to the number of stocks out there.

Stock trading is a momentum based game and we usually need that momentum to be established before entering. That's where candlesticks come in:
A simple but effective approach is to trade the pull backs on parabolic moves like this in a bull market:

Play with a stock screener to do a daily scan:

But remember liquidity can be an issue here. And always back test!

Hope this helps.

No it's not a losing game, well maybe for you.

All markets trade in basically the same manner technically.

Its hard are to explain but once you start making money you will understand what I'm saying.

You probably just haven't put enough time into it.
Be hopeful in a winning position, and fearful in a losing position.

No Sir, dont lose hope so fast!! Forex is no doubt a tedious but it is well rewarding too. You need to be a little active trader. Basically keep a track of news which can potentially affect the currency pair. Keep the strategy simple and go for deep fundamental insight for better understand. I would request you to try FOREX again. Try news trading, you will benefit alot from that.
All the best Justin

It's not forex that's the problem it's these high frequncy trading methods, and news trading (which brokers and news sites push), which make traders lose.

Newsites need fresh content for SEO purposes, so they have to push day trading, news trading
Brokers love it, more trades, more commissions

is this what you did?

China stocks down.
Interestingly a mate sent me a scenario of every US election year for equities.
Early year up mid March and beyond down.
A positive number friday night out of the US and there are screams for US rate increases.

I hate being a pessimist but after the woeful G20 I see nothing but weakness

I think he should also realise that you will have a much higher margin requirement when trading stocks, which is why it appears as a safer game. Try trading FX on 1:10 leverage and it may change your complete trading mindset.

Wit will be interesting if we break this major support. Or if we crack resistance too, but I got eyes on the support.
