Exactly right Kilian, ive adapted Qsytem to suit me, using the top qboxes are warning signals to enter on a 'pricechannel_stop-v9.2" its working quite well for ME ..... I use PIN BARS as guide as well. and most times the top Q(QM-MM) as well )2 qboxes ) will be on a top or bottom Pin BAR candle ..so thats makes for very solid signal , any time frame .I cant mentally or financially handle drawdowns ,so I had work out something for me ...

also in other Quantum topic about this EA Mr.Navk said that EA of this its not that good... like he said " It was making good money but one poor basket trade will eat away all profits" so what do You think Mr.Masterrmind ? is there any possbile to make good money of this and avoid that "poor basket trades" ? or its just inevitable... ? (like play with NOW stop loss ??) (i make my on 50pips)
How You deal with that ?

If you read the whole thread, you will see that Mastermind is doing really great ... So you have your answer ...

I know that he doing great but others said that only 1 basket poor trade and Your account(profit) is gone .... thats worrying me ...

In terms of making trades or not making trades before news it really depends but if its major red news then it might be best to be avoided.

As for the EA as I have always said it is simply a tool.... a tool which I use to assist me in making multiple entries on an M1 chart mainly but also other charts too.

The larger the account relative to smaller lot sizes the better and more relaxed the trading but at the 'expense' of smaller net % gain.

I continue to have very good cycles of trades on the pairs I trade when using the Q method.

Here is my secret ...........

EURCHF [M1; 200 - 200/adj. 350* to 550*] - close some/all trades by applying discretion (as req'd) at DO, S+R, 00 numbers and key levels using PA

EURGBP [M1; 200 - 200/adj. 350* to 550*] - close some/all trades by applying discretion (as req'd) at DO, S+R, 00 numbers and key levels using PA

Note well: * means for cycles with a Q exit value =200 that look like potentially being closed out as losses (usually just before FF opens or a few hours prior, it does vary a bit) then I will look at the chart at alter Q exit to anywhere from about 350 to 550 using the trending indi as a guide but also an observation of the applicable chart (key levels etc).

Monitoring the cycle of trades is paramount to controlling DD and remaining profitable!

Other pairs ACad, AN, GU, UCad and several others.

I also trade Gold [M5], GU [H1] and the volatile pairs such as EA, GA, EN, GN, GCad, GJ on the H4 TF but look for higher probability setups usually.

SL and global SL levels have been explained in previous posts which means I calculate (determine) the average and maximum ranges for the trading window of interest, these are tabulated in excel on a day to day basis however many times these pip max ranges remain the same values until a new max pip range is generated so once the calculation has been done for the previous X number of periods/years then it is a very simple matter of applying the lines X_pips from the 1st entry and simply measure in the UP and DOWN directions and draw a horizontal line on the chart and that's where my SL goes.

Currently EURCHF and EURGBP are traded anywhere from Start of day + 30 minutes/Tokyo Open for up to 3 cycles, if >2 pairs the lot progression size is reduced and so too the number of cycles...either 1 or 2 cycles depending on how early in the trading window the 1st cycle is completed.

Most commonly applied trading window for EChf and EG pairs is from Tokyo Open through to Frankfurt - 1 hour.
Trades that remain open beyond FF Open are carefully managed and closed out at key levels or at any level using common sense approach.
Common sense approach means that I analyze each respective chart and make a decision to let some trades run, close them out at minor profit or minor loss as the case may be based on the current net gain of that particular cycle of trades.

It may well be better to simply take a small loss on say 3 trades (provided the cycle of trades is net positive) than to risk a higher DD situation by allowing the trades to remain open beyond FF Open when DD will increase significantly!

I monitor currently running cycle profits and cycle DD for each pair I trade as well as overall account DD.

For the Tokyo start session through to say FF-1 trading window I apply >> 0.01lots per 10K balance but it depends on the trading day of the week and my overall view of the market.

I urge you to demo trade the above 2 pairs with the settings I have given and if you apply some common trading sense you will make very respectable profit..........

Perhaps set up 3-5 demo accounts but use the same 2 pairs say EChf and EG [M1; 200 - 200/350 to 550/manual] on each demo account but apply default lot size progression from 0.01 for demo account #1, 0.03 for demo #2 and 0.05 for demo #3 and run this for at least 1 week during the Asian session and for the 1st test week just set 3 cycles per pair.

The next week get more involved and start looking at ways of closing out cycles of trades manually at key levels of S+R, DO line etc and analyze your trading data such as DD, net %gain, win/loss ratio etc..... perhaps use a TE or a myfxbook for 'better' data analysis...up to you.

I am very happy with my progress using this method and will consider a TE or myfxbook very soon...........

ps. success comes to those who work hard by applying the right knowledge at the right time for the right reasons.........

i also not from US or Britain so my English is not that good to understand all....

This 200-550 is what ?( Q exit value =200) is Take Profit/stop lose size ? / time ? / candles ? and what "DO" mean ?
Dont me mad ... i really want to understand Your secret but its hard when i dont know all shortcuts and meanings... I just need guide from You ... (write it please as simple as possible to understand better with no shortcuts)
i will try to adapt Your idea with SL and global SL levels but what i saw in back time that 40-50pips SL is more or less sustainable level to trust and also if i dont increase a lot size in trades it would be more safe dont You think? i also decrease SL on 3-4(and more) entry like You tip me before alo use RSI to filter better entries and alos use envelopes line to! its really helpfull !
Im not that professional trader like You i probably never will but i really try to make this Quantum strategy right even if i dont get(understand) all of Your great tips....

Take your time and learn what the Quantum indicator is showing... start with a small setting of say Q = 10 on an M1 chart and look at the Q signal boxes painted on your chart.

Count back 10 candles to the left and draw a vertical line

Between the current candle and the vertical line you just drew find the lowest price level and the highest price level within this zone and draw 2 horizontal lines. This is now the upper and lower boundary of your zone 10 candles deep.

Only if current price goes lower or higher than the lowest or the highest level within this zone will another Q signal box be painted.

Repeat the above steps for different values of Q settings for example 20, 30, 50, 100 and then 200 and observe what happens.

You need to be very very familiar with what the Q means on your chart so spend as much time as you need understanding it.

It is not too difficult as you will soon discover.

Search for the trending indicator and apply it to your chart and change the setting values and observe what happens.

Then apply Q = 200 in the Quantum indicator but for the trending indicator set HH value = 200 but LL = 350 (this would be used for a short cycle that you want to 'force' to close in the positive)

The reverse would be used for a long cycle of trades that for an initial Q setting = 200 the positive forcing value would be increased to 350 for example or any other valid setting.

DO = Daily Open (it is the starting price at the very beginning of the trading day). Look at the black colored horizontal line on my posted charts this is the DO line for the broker I use.

Use the SL settings to guide your choice of lot size and/or number of entries. This is heavily related to your trading account size.

Use google translate as much as possible to make your way through the English and don't worry since none of us are experts at the English language anyway! You might also try to search for other participants to this thread who speak the same language as yourself but have a 'better' grasp of the English language but this is entirely up to you.

On a slow moving pair 50 pip SL may be sufficient but you really should have a solid reason as to why you are using a SL = 50 pips and not simply guessing a value.

I have all my pip ranges for a given trading window recorded in excel (averages and maximums) then I draw them on my chart and I look for key levels of S+R and adjust the horizontal range lines (SL lines) to be perhaps 10-20 pips greater than the nearest key level.

Don't worry about being a professional trader just yet since we all had to start from the beginning. Crawl then walk then run!

RSI : do not waste much of your time on the RSI, stochastic or MACD indicators as they are of very limited use here!

As for the envelopes if they help you then well and good but I see no need to use them at all!

You should be more concerned about the following:

1. account balance;
2. current DD;
3. number of trades open;
4. expected closing cycle price as time moves forward;
5. monitoring your trades; and
6. risk management

This is a very basic start and there is much much more to learn but it should be useful to you.

A simple chart to explain the high, low and a look back Q value = 10



Now you have to imagine what happens in live trading as a new candle is created on the right hand side of the chart?

If Q value remains at Q=10 candles then as a new candle gets painted on the chart then the vertical line you drew will also need to shift 1 period to the right such that the gap between the current candle and the Q=10 value remains constant over all time.

Now you have to follow this ongoing process of a new candle forming on the far right of the chart and take notice of where current price level is compared to the ongoing zone starting 10 candles back.

If price moves above the current high then a new Q signal box is painted on the chart
If price moves below the current low then a new Q signal box is painted on the chart

Hello first time trader here and been watching this thread for a couple months want to say a big thanks for all information as I have learnt alot and most of all built and learned all with out asking questions just reading and testing but I think I have got it with numerous indicaors I have put together please take a look and see if you all like as its working for me and I am a novice been 3 months practice and learning lol been some long old nights thanks again everyone for the information

In several of your post you talk about applying a trending indicator to your chart. But you caution on using MACD, RSI and Stoch as they are of limited value with the Q method.

So what trending indicators would you suggest, indicators like MAs?

as long as the quantum indicator only shows that price is on the support or ressistance of the channel, a breakout strategy is logical by connecting the quantum dots or do you specifically look for some more evidence?

Basically any lagging indicator should be either not used at all or applied only as an early warning signal to close out some or all of a position in profit as the case may be and NOT used as a trigger to place a trade.

For the trending indicator I am not referring to a moving average as such but actually to the traced out red and blue lines you see applied to my posted chart (post # 2294).

I don't use RSI, Stochastic or MACD on any of my charts and especially not when trading the Q method... they are not needed.

What needs to be considered are 2 things:

1. Location of a global SL and from this knowledge
2. Lot progression size and 'likely' number of entries relative to account balance

In terms of MAs the only one I have applied to my chart (higher TF charts) is the 200 SMA and this is NOT needed for trading Q, I use it mainly on much higher TF charts such as H1 and H4 etc and look for reactions between the 200 SMA and price (whether it is respected or not) but this forms part of price action trading techniques.

This particular method is a little different.

As price breaks out of current zones additional entries are generated either at higher or lower price levels as the case may be.

The power of the method comes in the form of a predictable and 'eventual' retracement of price that leads to a closing of a cycle of trades in profit.

It could be traded as a breakout strategy for sure and anticipated TP's would vary depending on pair traded, session time etc etc.

However, we look for a desirable retracement in price so a breakout strategy would need to be administered for only small TP's.

On slow moving pairs in the Asian or other slow sessions the probability of getting some form of tradeable retracement is extremely high.

No-one can predict the future and this is why risk management becomes so important.

Monitor and manage every cycle of trades and always have a clear idea of exactly what action to take should price start to move into shall I say 'a painful zone'.............

Thank You Masterrmind for that lession ! i read this like 3 times hehe..I am very grateful!!. I now know how Q works and it how new boxes are created to set HH and LL. Thank You. But still dont know how to set my SL after that... in my understanding i make a SL size from HH to LL or HH&LL IS our SL ?

i also NOT making LOT progression because of small account ... i rather prefer to make less trades... is that good or progression is necessary ?
