Great work Tony! Inow in profit mode thankx to you I know now the importance of having a SL=20 and TP=120. Ive been researching and can only find NFP to trigger such a spike that would give this kind of TP. Some others events can make a 40-50 pips spike. Do you recomend trading them since R:R is 1:2 ? Another thing i would like your answer to is the leverage (since you mention it).. What risk from acc balance do you recomend in each trade? 2%? 5%?

Please give me you valuable advice.

Hi all... New to this thread but really like the idea of it all... no stress-- flip a coin and let what is-- be..

Just to make sure i have everything correct... Strategy goes like this... red news coming.. you watch and wait till 1 second before news is announced... You pick a direction you think it will go... You put a 20 pip sl and a 120 pip take profit.. then see what happens... Is that pretty much it? I feel like im missing something.. It cant be this easy-- it just makes way tooo much sense....

So if that is all correct.. Then just a question or two..

1.Why not straddle the entry.. take a long position 20/120 and a short position 20/120.... Youll lose the 20 on one of the sides for sure but then set yourself up to capture the other direction..

2. Does the act of taking the trade just before the new is announced save you from the large slippage and big spread? or is that still there?

3. I know you dont like a ea tony.. But to me-- im the opposite... i bumble around and find myself messing up orders just before events.. Id rather have a ea where i just click a button and it places everything right in place instantly... Other then you just not liking ea's tony-- is there any other reason a ea that does this would be bad?

Carllos, happy to hear you're on the right path.
Other quarterly, or yearly events are good to trade such as: interest rates, FOMC, speeches etc.
Keep it to only the big ones.

Leverage is 1:50 max, to avoid series of bad luck.

Risk in capital per trade :
max loss trade 6%
average loss trade 3%

That is the reason why I decided to switch to GBP/JPY. the spread is just a little bit smaller but more predictable and the move is roughly the same if not even stronger. The spread 5 minutes before the news started to climb to 7 pips which lead to my position being down 6 pips in the end. Anyways if I enter earlier and exit a little bit later this should be a win next time.
