Bought the pin after the news release. Didn't look at the numbers. Checking my order it was 1.10099. Took profit at first push. Price fell. Closed out. Would have hit BE now anyway.

Hi Willo, Many thanks for your speedy reply.Your post 13 is a great example of the case for challenging Sam Seiden which I have actually done on two occasions when he was at the St Albans centre north of London.He is a very nice guy and totally centred on the core method that OTA use.
Whilst on a refresher course we had a task to trade live demo and I was one of three in the class who made profit. I was just selling bounces as price descended to their demand level that had been agreed. Price never got there so most people never entered at all.Point made and still the instructor said we were incorrect!!.
I can see what you are doing with Oanda now ,thanks for that.
As to Market Profile (MP) I will set up a chart over the weekend to show another idea which might complement the Oanda concept and MP will go right on the chart.
My only problem is getting the chart onto the forum here like you guys. I am not quite sure how to do that though.As I run MT4 on a Mac I would be posting a PDF. I am sure it would be simple enough is some kind person out there could give me a 1,2,3 explanation. Many thanks in anticipation! Have a great weekend Happy trading

Hey Reldas, I've looked over Sam's videos many times and it all made good sense when combined with the odds enhancers. I've identified significant areas on the H4 and waited for the price to come to me, the few trades I've done worked out very well. The one thing I did do is spend a lot of time looking at price action once price reached the area of interest on a much lower time frame to see what price is doing, looking for invitations to join the market.

I'm of the belief that traders should only enter a trade when the market offers us a deal thats strictly on our terms and in our best interests

With all that said Willo has brought something else to the table I didn't consider so busy understanding this added layer, looking forward to your Market Profile document.

Many thanks for replying to my observations.I agree re Sams Videos, My problem with them is that one can sit and watch price travelling for two three days giving some great little trades en route to the final OTA S/D levels which then do, I agree,work out pretty well a lot of the time. I am a day trader living UK and trade usually €/£ open areas and $ open area using 1hr 30 min 5 minor entry where most volatility tends to occur ,except when it does not, like every other rule in trading one accepts that situation!
As to Market Profile I need to study it some more over the weekend then share and if you know how to put a PDF onto the thread please help as I am not the worlds best comport operator LOL. My main purpose of being on this thread is to share and learn, so that I can become more profitable.

first click on reply to thread ,you'll see at the bottom it says attach files ,click on upload from computer then select the pdf ,once its uploaded click insert, then post.

I like this work about liquidity willo. And yes I agree, if too much time passed and sentiment and trend has changed levels get crushed easier.
Do you take pivot high/low as SD? This is my view. Don't know if it make sense or not, but I like to see some sideways activity (not too much) to make a SD zone [edited]

i don't take pivot high low as S+D i was kind of in a rush when i was drawing these zones just found some areas with a strong move away and that the market hadn't returned to for a while and just counted them as zones for the sake of making a point in the pic.

I'm never really too concerned about transactions taking place usually, i'll place a pending order at the zone for entry, as long as i get one right i should make enough money to cover the ones which don't work out

My thinking being that if a large entity has only had part of their trade placed causing the market to rise or fall if there is still part of the order left to be filled the market should retrace back to the source of the up/down move quite quickly rather than taking a long time ala seiden teaching's.

Thanks. By transaction I mean a base at the SD zone itself (not a strong move starting from a pivot or a spike, I want a base), I'm not refering at when price comes back, where I use pending orders too and expect a quick spike in and out at return (hopefully)

I'ld like to add some comments. It's all about the hooks. We retail traders won't be able to move market so we have to wait and see when the market exhausted(hook-no more order coming in) then prices will fall or move up. I still have to learn more about Oanda order book.

Hi All,

I found very interesting pdf about hooks & Momentum over pins by guy name Woverine about 25 pages.
I think if we add hooks, Oanda order book & market profile in our tool box it would be fantastic.

Just a strong piece of advice. There are no shortcuts, no eye opening pdf's or post anywhere. Sorry to bust any bubbles of those stumbling in here or any other thread or book. You still have to put the time in and learn the instrument(s) you trade. You will have to find your own way but yes, based on these concepts is an awesome way to go. There are so many other factors such as news, time of day, momentum and the list goes on. For every hook, engulf, buyers level, sellers level, speed bump, pin, doji, compression, momo, popo, dodo and whatever crap you find, I will show you where price goes long or short from it. Comes back at it. Pins it, spikes it and does what ever it can do to F U out of your money. The bottom line is, you still have to trade it. It looks easy on the chart but it's an illusion. What's your risk tolerance, how much pain can you take? I will tell you this. You shouldn't be taking any pain PERIOD! If you're not nailing it to the pip (1-5), you ain't there yet Son. And that's the truth. Trust me I know. Been through this shit. Screw no stops. Screw wide stops and room to breath. That's bullshit. The best entry is the one with the least risk. It's not the only way to trade but it's the safest, most profitable and least stress-full way to trade hands down and if anyone says different, they're an idiot. If you ain't nailing it to the pip (1-5) you're not there yet and will probably lose money in the end. I do feel S&D is the best way to trade, just be smart about how you approach the markets. It can suck you in the wrong direction quickly. That feeling of I'm almost there can last for years and years and account after account before you realize you lost a fortune.

Here's a test. Make your chart window small so you can't see too much ahead. Scroll back in history on your chart a few months in the time frame you trade. Now scroll forward very slowly and look for trade opportunities. Pretend and mark where you take a trade off one of your momos, popos, cocos, whatever. Now continue forward slowly and watch it play out. Even if it goes in the direction you predicted, did it spike or move the opposite direction first from where you mock entered? And if it did, by how many pips? Would you have been stopped out? Oh you don't use stops. OK, on the next trade that failed, how many pips are you now in the negative because you didn't use stops? Be honest with yourself of where you would be positioned and where you might have gotten taken out. Hey, how about taking profit? Do you know where you would have, or will you just watch price come back at your stop time and time again? Watch how many times you fail. Reality sucks Papi but you learn from failure, just be safe....

Call me dumb but I don't see how preaching like this should be more helpful than any supposedly eye opener pdf.
Not that you said anything wrong, but everybody knows screen time is a major key and no one expect to make millions after reading a pdf or open 10 lots live without SL because the post says so, it's just sharing some practical ideas and try to put some pieces together and then it's up to every of us alone. No hard feelings though
