Btw, may I ask which S/R do you use as you have multiple templates. I have all the indicators. Do you use use AutoWeeklypivotplotter, Davit's Pivot 3, #Prev day/week, or Manual S/R drawing? Or do you place an order of importance on which one? Thank you.

I use them all, but I took them on and off when choppy and the chart look too busy and do my own fib drawing. Most important thing is look left to see how price reacted...mostly I respect 1st touch off 200MA, DOL, Auto-Pivot-Plotter_weekly_V2_1.

This is my first post on the forum but I have been following the thread for some considerable time. I use the TMS system as tought by Big E on my live trading account.
If I try to list all those on this thread who have helped my learning experience, I would surely miss someone off the list!!
Yesterday the outcome of the Fed. meeting caused the markets to react counter to what many traders were forecasting. Reading yesterday's posts, some traders had open positions which would have gone against them with potentially large DD's. How were these positions managed? - were SL's hit, are they still in the trades, or did they scale out?. It's easier in some respects to open positions than to know when to close them and it would be helpful to know how the experienced traders here dealt with the situations.
Thanks to everyone here who give good advice and help so freely. We never stop learning do we.

yes, there s one in paper clip but I stopped using it because it makes chart look too busy not the way I prefer to mark swing high/low myself. If you look at your chart long enough you will see it without any indie

Hi Dodger, welcome to M30.
As mentioned, we trade on m30 chart so I recommend traders wait for the set up, trade what you see not what you hear, be in and out of your trades end of the day and stay away from big news like FOMC,NFP, ...don't predict, don't listen to anyone, if you want to stay in the game, do your homeworks, be disciplined, be patient...

Still have all my positions open.
I trade based on $$ not pips.
Each pair has $$ I allocated to trade.As long as that $$ is not spent on DD my positions are open.Its my SL
Everyone should calculate what their SL should be Pips $$ but there must be one.
Success should be measured not on singular trade or several but in hundreds.There will be losers and that's because nobody can predict the market 100%

My approach to trading independent of any system is underlining concept that its better having smaller lots then 1 or 2 big lots.
That's because between point A to B there is usually 20-40pips spikes.Average retail trader will get stopped out even if direction was correct.
By going small you can average in 1 position containing of 3 mini positions covering 40-50pips giving you an edge of even with 50% retrace you are BE instead of being stopped out.Make sense right?
TMS30 is great system and I love it.Rest is managing trades.As LK mentioned don't listen to everyone including me and follow the signals of the system.

GJ Long position, +303 pips. Thanks to GS and Davit for the inspiration.

Points to keep in mind.

1.) This is not just some random trading, once you decide to enter a trade you do so with reduced size, one position at a time.

2.) There is a limit to how many positions are opened and is account percentage based.

3.) There is a hard SL and that is based on account percentage as well. Once it is reached all trades are closed.

4.) Once in profit, positions in greatest profit get their SL moved to BE to preserve capital.

5.) My +303 pips on these trades may have less dollar value than someone else's one +50 pips trade.
