GBPNZD 4HR BUOB, would have liked a close above the S & R line. Can always wait for a retrace or have put a buy order above the line.



15 MIN retrace entry

My GJ buy limit was triggered early this morning and now up +47 pips floating. I may set this to BE since we are coming up on the 150 EMA on the daily chart.

Hey alphac. Just wondering, how many charts do you watch in a day? Also, do you move to lower time frame only for entry?

Hi Xero, about 50 - 60 charts. No, only sometimes use lower time frame entries, the higher time frame PA is always superior, saying that if there is really nice PA on the lower ones I'll take it, when the EURCAD (above) reached the S & R level I've marked there was BUOB's on 15 and 30 min timeframes. The S & R areas are often zones, so once you move down to lower timeframes they can be appear quite wide and make a trade more risky, the PA has to be very good to convince me. If the higher timeframes are boxing, the upper and lower levels can be nice areas for lower timeframe trades.

If you look at GBPCAD DAILY I posted here http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...87#post8554687 the top of the box and the 2.00 BRN are almost indistinguishable, but on the 15 min chart they're two clear S & R levels, so you would need to be careful selling off of the top level on the lower timeframe charts.

Hi GB, hope you don't mind me giving my thoughts on your trade, whilst the pinbar is off of a S & R area, the 1.4 BRN is just above, I'd prefer a retrace to the line and a confirmation bar closing above the BRN (or a sell signal back between the two S & R lines). I would only take a pinbar personally at a low, rather than as a continuation, but they do work out as others on your chart show. Good luck with the trade(s).



Hi Kat, it's not really a pinbar tbh, it really needs to look like the one in Guitarbloke's setup, a nice long wick, preferably with the open and close within the body of the previous candle and both in the top third (at least) of the candle. I'm also looking for a (buy or sell) signal at that area, but a buy signal is going to have to stand out after that large bearish candle.

Look at the size of the pin in relation to the size of the bearish bar prior to the pin.

Hi Kat. EUR/CAD W1. Small PB with bearish close against strong previous bearish bar as has folks have mentioned. But it may retrace to 1.46000/61% fib level before heading down, which is what I am waiting for. BEOVB on W1. Chart below.

No worries Alphac, appreciate any comments always. I should clarify signal is a BUOVB rather than PB. I'm not too worried about brn above. I'm banking on price pushing through further north as it has done from this area. I also have a retrace entry order set if price comes back down. The super high spread on this pair today thrust my entry way higher than intended. But I'm happy being in the trade. Good trading this week all. GB.
