First updates after the very juicy conference ... --> Changing short term outlook in European from Neutral to Buy --> Changing short term outlook in Oil from Neutral to Sell (that can become in strong sell if FED gives a hand next weekO) Euro, Gold and currencies pairs with Dollar no changes in outlook yet as FED is in play next week and Dollar has preference (at least until next meeting). sisse {quote} Today why? sisse

No, long term.

sissie, I usually just read your posts, absorb and try and learn what you are saying as I always respect your outlook and comments. Due to this "game changer" would you reel in the micro levels to 1350 ceiling and 1180 as floor for a while or a deeper floor at this point? And, trying to find correlation with EU. Recently, ES (S&P Futures) was a gauge in recent days but thinking this ECU decision is going to change things? !

1.135x was the flip level for the news play ...either you played it before or play the flows with the break 1.127x as mentioned before the conference... so well done to all early bears as they are in superb position to squeeze the hell out of the range.

1.112x (/1.108x) is the bottom of the proper range and i don't see why raise the level before the FED rates and also without the pair even trading those levels yet.

On the correlations, to be honest we will have short term short-circuit as this are really big comments. Just the fact of potential more free money plus negative rates, plus scary inflation make a strong case for equities and euro jumping in opposite sides. However, don't forget we still have the dollar side in play next week ...

I wouldn't jump the gun just yet as we have strong contradictory FA forces clashing...basically thats why i am keeping my short term outlook in the euro in NEUTRAL until further data

I got nothing there. A M break below 1.108x unlocks 1.073x with intermediate stop 1.096x...

sisse,

Thanks for you update. I was wanting to see this 1.1350 come into play once again before heading farther South. I was looking to the 1180 to hold for now but that may not be the case. Thanks for your response and input! Always like to read your analysis!

Not expecting 113x to hold after the news nuke they dropped, but probably able to get BE before its taken

nothing much heard in the fin press about the Oct FOMC - nobody thinks the Fed will do anything until Dec or probably even later....this sets up an opp for the surprise of a hard hawkish take on the Oct FOMC and sharp reversal of the last 2-3 weeks grinding uptrend in US equities. A dovish take of course keeps the Great Pumpkin/Santa rally on track for an attack on the Summer's ath's.

I was concerned because of my LT-view of e/u when I saw the USDX-chart. I checked again and found out that I used a ficklish tool to measure. Here's the more proper one. I miss magnetic snaps to these tools, haven't found it or it's absent from the site. Don't know.

My impression was, we are below the 23.6-retracement, but we actually aren't

.--> On equities, 2020.xx is THE only level in play for the W roll and positioning for the FED move. For those positioned early for the swing from yesterday opening range (2033.xx) breakdown is 'sitting v tight time'. A push from the ECB to European Equites will carry the board until Frankfurt goes home...

Surely 2050 is of great importance for S&P? It's been a pretty significant S/R level for much of the year. I'm entering some major short positions here at 2048, would be good to get other opinions however

Same here roundabouts. Picture starting to look really clear on the pair and DXY too. Draghi put down the hammer so now it's wait and see with real interest until the end of the month. Either an asymmetric play via a dovish FED (meaning sell the highs.) or carnage from both sides. Let's see how DAX, DXY and Fiber continue to play out.
