As usual I am always in research mode. When coming up with 18 tick range bars I did test other numbers but 18 gave best result. Second best was 13 tick but those tests were based on getting 20 or 30. I just took a look at 13 tick again using our strategy for stop and target but what I did was have chart next to 18 range bar chart and took which ever one gave a signal first and all I can say is WOW!!! So if both are giving the same setup say a 123 or 2b which ever price is better use that one and it seems the 18 most of the time had the better entry price which is kinda strange. What I saw alot of was 13 gave signal went to a win amd the pb and setup on 18 and went to a win. So this is how I will play it going forword. There was a setup yesterday on 13 tick chart that won.

As always, H, thanks for sharing your research.

Over the many years I have been trading, I have often charted multiple time frames - or in this case range periods - to try not to miss good trades. It can be a great way to go.... but I often wonder if I just kept things really simple and stuck to one chart of one instrument, might I have been much more consistently successful ?

I mean who cares if there are days without trades ?

I was chatting last week with 60minuteman (as one does... he's got his own forum now) about Clarity. We're all clear that we want to make money, that we need a method with positive expectancy and we need to apply this consistently, right ? But what I think 99.99% of traders miss is the need to be crystal clear within and about ourselves : only by doing this will we ever come to terms with what prevents us from succeeding at something as frustratingly simple - but not in the least bit easy - as trading.

Just a Sunday morning opinion from this old Buddhist-sympathising, Advaita-loving, Presbyterian pescatarian, whilst maintaining a positive outlook ... like Brian here (no offence meant to my more devout friends) :
