DislikedGAP trading on its best! {image} {image} {image} {image} Works the best in ranging or weak market. Just a small hint for the developers and traders as well: To determine a GAP only the last few secs. of current and new candle important! After system has detected a GAP and order(s) is / are sent, switch back to "normal" trading mode. JibalaIgnored
Disliked{quote} hi jibala, thanks for sharing, your work is truly inspiring. i have a question: do you use a minimum variation value for the gap trades? or do you still take the trade even if the variation is small, for instance from +2.0 to +2.3? thanksIgnored
Disliked{quote} There is a gap variation value of course! Its value varies on average market strength. Strong market = higher entry level Weak market = lower entry level JibalaIgnored
DislikedHi Jibala, I interprete the first marked sentence that you look for momentum because when there is a big enough gap between the last seconds of the old candle and the first few seconds of the current one this means that momentum is picking up speed and we are ready to go for a brief visit of the market to capture a few pips and then leave? What do you mean switching back to "normal" trading mode? Could you clarify what do you mean by "average" market strength? Your advice is highly appreciated.Ignored

Disliked{quote} Thanks for the screenshot examples. They speak for themselves. It seems to me that Gap-trading can be used for countertrend-trading as well because when having a look at the extracts from the WSD the bidratio points in the other direction. Got it. I guess this is what you mean by switching back to "normal" trading mode. What I still do not get is how you determine average market strength. Maybe you calculate it with the B/S ratio. It would be great if you could enlighten me on this but if this is proprietary information forget my question....Ignored
DislikedHi Jibala, Is this Gap trading autotrade or manual? Regards {quote}Ignored
Disliked{quote} What I mean by "switching back" is no need to stay on GAP mode all the time, since only some secs. are needed to determine a GAP (between current and new candle). There are more GAPs during the entire candle, but it is not advisable to trade them, hence switch back to "normal" (CRS, RSI, BidRatio or whatever it is) mode. How this Average Market Strength is calculated I can't tell since I do not have access to source code, but it's definitely much different from normal calculation. I guess it uses just another algorithm. JibalaIgnored
Disliked{quote} You can not catch them manually, we've tried already, hence fully automated.Ignored
