Correct, the Close_orders EA is an additional tool I included, since I removed the 'manual close' button. All that is requried is the Quantum indicator. Understood about the grid, however it's not my style so I cut it out. Adding additional timeslots is something I may look into. Be aware, my time slot uses GMT and not the time of your broker, cheers.

I've got Vlads EA running hot in the live market so I'm only testing Shaolins' EA in the strategy tester.

Excellent, I'm sure it may resemble some older version already posted in here before all of the feature requests. With any EA I find it necessary to refactor the code so I can be 100% certain of the functionality. Once I understood the Quantum indicator formula I realized it was quite simple, which I really like, so I wanted to start with the basic features as a solid ground to begin my tests. Thanks for your feedback and any suggestions always welcome!

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your hard work.

I want to test this in EG pair.

Can you clarify what do with these files and where to put those?

There is one attribute file and ignore file.

I have placed EA file and indicator file along with set files in proper folder.
Intraday only.

All that is necessary is the quantum_shaolin.ex4 EA and the Quantum.ex4 Indicator. The default settings probably don't work at all so I included the set files as well. The Close_orders EA is for manually closing orders and was included as a convenience. The .git files are only for the git repository and can be ignored. If there are any developers interested they can access the code on github here https://github.com/alexanvl/QuantumShaolin

Hi Vlad,

Just picked up a concerning bug in the EA.

If you apply $_TP and $_SL the EA WILL NOT open any trades!

If you apply $_TP and %Equity_SL no problem at all.

Might need to fix this and I would like to know if any other traders have faced the same issue.

I usually apply %Equity_SL so I didn't notice the above problem highlighted in red until today!

I have been trading the EA for a bit and I can tell you with TP and SL in $$, and I can tell you that they ARE opening trades correctly.

HOWEVER, something strange has been happening in some of my tests. In ocassions, in a few isolated, random pairs, after a closure, I will get some trades that appear to be "missed" for a while. I noticed that closing and re-opening MT4 seems to fix the problem, but not after quite a few signals went by, untraded!!!

Were you using a live ie real account at the time or demo?

My problem persists that is, if I apply $TP + $SL NO trades are opened.

So until a solution is found I will continue to use %Equity SL with a $TP.

All demo.

I'm getting in some cases no trades for 2 days..:!! despite having several signals showing according to the indi.

If you set % capital as profit target, the auto closure does not work ?

Hi Shaolin.

I really want to trade your version.

However, I would urge you to please consider including a Hard SL and TP, as some of us trade this way in order to really try to control DD. In my case, I run several trials with different balance accounts, so cannot standardize testing with a % equity SL/TP.

Also one question: In order to trade 24/5, how should I set up your EA?? (I'm guessing 0's in the time fields???))

I've come up with an idea.

I'll try to emulate the settings I'm TRYING to use (hard $ SL/TP) in points rather than $.... to see if the missed openings problems is fixed.

I'm changing some of my demos to this and leaving some in $, and then I'll be able to compare if either platform still shows missing trades after some time.

I'll come back with answers as soon as I have some.

Hopefull Vlad can still look into this!

Sure, that makes sense. I'll look into adding the optional SL/TP per trade soon. To trade full time, you would need a "0" in the max_cycles field and set your time window 00:00 -> 23:59. Thanks for your feedback!

Hi MM, I am happy to make bug fixes to Vlad's EA as well. I will contact him to see about setting up source control to make contributions and versioning easier. In the meantime, can you send me a private message with an explanation of the bug, and perhaps as an exchange you could also share with me the exact details of how you use the TP/SL with this method? First day of test, your EA.

The extreme move ( eurgbp) gave a shock to the EA.

Went into some 16 % floating loss on a 3k account.

Finally closed in nice profit. I closed it manually. With 13 % gain.

But usually eurgbp is ranging pair and not trending pair.

I trust your EA has withstood the shock.

More testing is required though.
