I'm using oanda. Spreads have been a little iffy lately. Just stick with EURUSD and it's OK. Today it went to 7.5pip spread, which I can deal with grudgingly. Yesterday was OK for the PPI release only 3.5pips. Atleast I get filled and they don't slip (not in my experience). I'd rather just pay 7.5 than deal with some shaddy obstacle course. When it gets around 10pips or more regularly, I'll have to look elsewhere. Altleast they brought the spread back down to 1.8 pretty fast today, so you only get stung on the entry.

I am still in trade, moved SL to 128.17

Next level: 128.60, 128.85, 129.25

Support 128.28 should hold.

Are you sure it's exactly 5 minutes? Didn't have any problems with yesterdays releases. So it's only with highly anticipated releases? Is it true that during NFP you are prevented to create reasonable entry orders one hour before the actual news release.

BurgerKing or anyone else who has more details about when FXCM prevents traders from setting entry orders please share your personal experiences.

I was allowed in with EUR/USD at 2796 with a trigger entry (thought I was over 28xx? so ) and closed 2840 for 44 pips. The earlier short with GBP/CHF reaped in a similar ++ so one of the better days....long may they continue!! I usually trade using TA but news trading sure adds to the excitement and dif. to stay . Isn't red wine good for the heart??

Set my Buy Stop @ 1.2802 and TP @ 1.2820. Got 18 pips - trade filled - North Finance, no mess, no fuss.

58 pips today. Which is very good.

I opened buy market order because I did not expect anything good from news. Sure I had stop and reverse order in case I'm wrong.

Money, did you get slipped at all on today's trading with FXSol? For the first time in...welll since ever...I finally got slipped on a trade entry by 8 pips by FXSol. Luckily I had my t/p just set for +25 on the trade so I still came out ahead. Between this and BoE minutes, good day.

Outstanding work Hollis.

FXSol established a 10 pip premium on the buy-sell stops and also slipped me 5 pips at entry on cable.

But, at the risk of repeatedly sounding redundant again (deja vu?), you know my motto: adapt, improvise and dominate. I still made a few large. But what else did you expect from the Money Ma$ter?

I have no issue with the slippage since today I got to break a few personal records in trading. I was more curious to see if slippage happened to you as well. Good to hear that everything's gone well for everyone this morning though.

I put my Entry stops in about 20 minutes before announcement and was allowed to set them where I wanted. But in reality, my order was for buy EUR/USD at 1.2808, and it was filled at 1.2813- 5 pip slippage. But between my EUR/USD and GBP/USD trades I came out with 91 chart pips. I can't complain.

Thanks for pointing out the fact that there was no entry premium at 8:00 a.m. est. I think it was established around 8:20 or so.

Its 5 mins. Yesterday, they did not anticipate "volatility" and I was free to adjust my entries to within 10 pips. Today, GBPUSD kept rising, I naturally kept adjusting it (to prevent false spikes). It was getting too hot to handle and I adjusted it to 1.8890 hoping to adjust it down a few seconds of release. At 8:25, the dreaded 500 pips distance requirements was enforced and I was stuck with a 1.8890 entry - which I removed in frustration.

Last NFP, I was filled 40+ pips away from my intended entry; I got confused when the order was filled..

Bottom Line: get out of FXCM if you are a news trader.

How fast was your order filled?

I have an entry order for GBPUSD with NorthFinance. for many seconds (perhaps a minute), my order was kept in pending... later it dissappeared - I was confused - was it removed/deleted by the deal desk? I looked at Account History and it was there in an instant from pending to closed.

Is this "premium" the only problem you have with FXSol? What about speed of transaction? Do you have to wait minutes for your orders to show up? It took 3 minutes yesterday (PPI) for FXCM to get my order filled and let me control it - something that I dont like in situations where it could reversed immediately; one of my friend was actually filled at a higher price and reversed to touch stop for a huge loss instead of a huge win.
